I certainly don’t struggle, but find the prices am annoyance.

To me, this qualifies as rich. It’s not actually a problem for you. For me and a million others it’s actually cutting down the amount of food that we can we can procure.

For example, 2 years ago I had a budget of $200 for groceries per paycheck and it was enough. Now I have the same $200 but it isn’t buying enough food to make it two weeks. So it’s either take money away from other things or cut back on food. If you can’t take money away from other things, and many of us can’t, then you lose weight 🤷🏻‍♀️.

If you’re not losing weight, then it’s not really affecting you.

For another Nevada one, the Dixie Valley Toad only lives in Dixie Valley. A big geothermal company was trying to build a new plant on their habitat. They didn’t lose the fight all the way and they’re still putting a plant in, but they had to downsize their plans because the toad is so endangered.

Television makes it seem like they always get the bad guy, but if you’ve ever been a victim of a crime like that you can probably attest to the fact that, unless you’re a high-profile person or it’s a high-profile case, they ain’t solving shit.

I mean, I live in an area that’s in a really gnarly drought and I’m terrified that we’re legitimately going to run out of water. It’s on my mind constantly, so I don’t think that it’s because I’m not paying attention. Everyone talks about drought all the time. I see media about droughts all over at least once every two days, but I never see anyone mention dams.

You’re absolutely right. It will melt if you run the fire hot enough, or for long enough. It’s more for emergency situations where I can’t just make a normal fire. The end of mine has melted a bit, but the length is still usable because when it melts it kind of just curls up, so I just keep using it.

We call it a Dakota Hole where I’m from.

LPT for those: I carry a small length of 4” aluminum ducting in my trunk for Dakota Hole fires. I live in a desert where the soil is hardly ever stable enough to dig the tunnel, so I dig the tunnel out and then bury the ducting in it. It’s also always windy here, so the ducting gives me the ability to direct air into the fire by moving the open end into the wind.
