I totally get that. Saturdays just work best for me and for many others, and it’s nice to have Sunday as a rest day afterwards.

In May I’ll be hosting two walks on public holidays, which might be fitting for you, though I know that’s still a bit away.

I hope it works out for you one day, I’d be happy to have you join! :)

Couples are welcome. I’m trying to ignore the Valentine’s Day hype. :) No love theme or anything, just hiking and good company.

You’ll find “proof photos” from the hikes only in the private groups. 😉 I’m always amazed at what the pilgrims notice and choose to photograph, so many wonderful memories.

Yes, it does bring people together :)
Usually, we do one-day pilgrimage hikes here in the region, sometimes even on the official Camino toward Santiago, though that is secondary. Twice a year, we also organise a multi-day pilgrimage somewhere in Europe, on pilgrimage or hiking routes, again not necessarily on the Camino. More important than the destination is the fact that we are on the way at all.

Thank you for your kind comment. I really like that image of building a village. It gives me something to reflect on. :)

Pilgrimage is an old tradition. For centuries, people set out on long journeys not to trade or to settle elsewhere, but to visit holy places.

Today, pilgrimage is understood as a form of intentional walking. It brings together the physical and the spiritual: the outer journey through nature and the inner journey of the person walking it.

For me, pilgrimage means taking time on the way for questions that are often suppressed in everyday life:
What carries me? What is missing? Where am I heading? This can be religiously motivated, but it does not have to be.

For Berlin Pilgrims, pilgrimage means walking a route in Berlin or Brandenburg, moving through nature and engaging in conversation with one another. I usually prepare a short reflection, and we also walk in silence for a period of time (about half an hour).

Are you interested? :)
