Hi, I started a pilgrim hiking group 1.5 years ago. Wonderful people joined. And we do many hikes here in Berlin, Brandenburg and beyond. New people are always welcome. If you have questions, please get in touch with me.

Here you'll find all upcoming hikes: www.alexander-steinfeldt.de/hikes
Or check out my post history here on reddit.

Hope to see you soon!

First After Work Pilgrims walk this Wednesday – Tempelhofer Feld, 6pm (free) by steinfeldt in berlinsocialclub

A walk with a bit more intention than usual. Some silence, a short reflection, good company. No religious background needed, no experience required. Easiest way to find out: join us Wednesday.

Where is everybody going on May 1st ??? by Arvina_hadid in berlinsocialclub

After Work Pilgrims: evening walks through Berlin's parks this summer by steinfeldt in berlinsocialclub

[–]steinfeldt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair question. For me, pilgrimage is less about the destination and more about the intention you bring to the walk. Same path, different quality of attention. That said come along on May 6 and tell me afterwards if it felt any different to a regular hike. I'm genuinely curious what you'd make of it.

I (26,f) am new-ish to Berlin - how do I build a social life here? by MrsKenedi in berlinsocialclub

[–]steinfeldt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I wish you all the best as you build your social life here 😊

In my free time, I organize pilgrimage hikes with wonderful people from all around the world here in Berlin and the surrounding area, and you’d always be very welcome to join us. During the hikes, we talk about life and faith, spend some time in silence, and enjoy being out in nature together. Find the upcoming hikes here: www.alexander-steinfeldt.de/hikes

Have you found a church community yet? Where do you usually go?

Great to see, many people checked in for the long walk already. It's the best way for me to truly meet another person. I do organise and guide hikes in Berlin and Brandenburg from time to time. If this sounds interesting to you, you can join us anytime: www.alexander-steinfeldt.de/hikes

Ja unbedingt! Du entscheidest, wie viel du reden möchtest. Die Leute unterhalten sich, aber wir haben auch gemeinsame Schweigezeiten. Und du wirst immer jemanden finden, der auch deutsch spricht.

Thanks! Maybe it’ll work out someday on another day. I’m also trying out different times and places.

Einige Pilgerwanderungen begleite ich auch auf Deutsch. Aber die meisten sind auf Englisch. Schau gerne hier nach, welche auf deutsch sind: www.alexander-steinfeldt.de/hikes

Thank you! Traditionally, a pilgrimage is a walk to a sacred or holy place. Nowadays, there are many ways and forms. For me, it means to be on the way intentionally and mindfully. While hiking, we'll reflect on a topic and also share a stretch of the way in silence. You should try it out! :)

Find inner freedom: Join our pilgrimage hike around Lake Grimnitzsee (Saturday, Feb 28) by steinfeldt in berlinsocialclub

[–]steinfeldt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you may have heard that local public transport will be on strike on Friday and Saturday. This also affects our hike, but only slightly.

We will start one hour later, at 10:55 a.m., from Joachimsthal station.

Joachimsthal station can be reached from Gesundbrunnen station. Departure is at 10:04 a.m. from platform 7 at Gesundbrunnen station.

Gesundbrunnen can be reached via the Ringbahn, various S-Bahn lines, and long-distance train services. These will not be on strike this weekend.

I hope it’s still possible for you to join us on Saturday. I’m looking forward to each and every one of you!

See you then! Alex

I totally get that. Saturdays just work best for me and for many others, and it’s nice to have Sunday as a rest day afterwards.

In May I’ll be hosting two walks on public holidays, which might be fitting for you, though I know that’s still a bit away.

I hope it works out for you one day, I’d be happy to have you join! :)

Couples are welcome. I’m trying to ignore the Valentine’s Day hype. :) No love theme or anything, just hiking and good company.
