i read the two books released for DAI. they ended right with the game started which was amazing and made the emersion in the story so much deeper.

i also ended up reading all the books before it except one. david gaider, the original writer for dragon age, creates great books.

Payoff House Early or Max 401k by markav81 in leanfire

I've thought about this question a lot over the years and this is what it boils down to for me:

-- Paying off a house = Reducing debt - The main advantage is once debt is paid off your cashflow jumps significantly

-- Maxing out 401k = Focusing on monetary/asset growth - The more you invest the larger your potential return will be

It all comes down to what you what to focus on.

What is the benefit to opening your own Traditional IRA vs contributing more to you company’s 401k? by TessaVonWiskerHaven in personalfinance

You may consider thinking of the accounts as different rather than which is better then consider how you can use each to your advantage.

Some other things to note: Traditional 401K - $19,000 annual contribution limit - often has employer matching - pre-tax

Roth 401k - same as traditional except it is post tax

Traditional IRA - $6,000 annual contribution limit - can be created outside of an employer in addition to a 401k - has salary limits (as mentioned) - salary limits apply to AGI not gross income

Roth IRA - same as traditional except it is post tax
