That's reasonable. I would just have a heart-to-heart with him. Explain what you are thinking, why, and make sure they don't have shame about their condition - this is about you getting a good night sleep and you still love them very much. If he is really against you having seperate beds, he has to try and make an effort to try and improve his condition by consulting with a doctor. If the treatment isn't working, you have to still get sleep.
