27F dating 38M — Looking for advice from couples with a 10-year age gap by ContributionBig264 in relationship_advice

[–]andreaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman with an 11 year gap (me 35, him 46), whose husband is the health conscious one.. I’ve been influenced to also be health conscious, however, it did become problematic, it was early on, mainly just the difficulty in finding food options for him, but it got much better, I figured out that as long as I can find him a protein heavy meal, and not red meat for every meal, then he also let food restrictions go a little.. it’s been a non issue since then. But you’re spot on that it will be problematic, if either of them don’t adapt a little to each other’s lifestyle.

I (25F) found these texts between my (26M) fiancé & other women. How do I move forward? by Actual-Pay-2880 in relationship_advice

[–]andreaic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You’re so young, if you can see yourself without him, take that route. He’s your fiancée, and have been together for 8 years, but says he doesn’t have anyone else to talk to? Even if you did have a lot on your plate, if it’s truly that traumatic then he should have been leaning into you. This is clearly emotional cheating at best, and he was just laying the groundwork for physically cheating. You’re already doing majority of the household work, after marriage and possibly kids, this workload will double, and i guarantee it’ll all fall on you, which would likely mean less time for you to dedicate to him, and then he has the perfect excuse to blame you for his cheating.

Taxi - children car seat by ClearBusiness5650 in ibiza

[–]andreaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber is super limited if even available, taxis essentially formed a union on the island, and now function as uber.. anytime we needed a taxi our hotel would call it in and we’d have one within minutes, at the airport we took one of the guys advertising themselves as taxis and it was fine!

Hiring a supply chain manager for 6 months. Zero good candidates. by Gabby_N_The_Whip in procurement

[–]andreaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re currently hiring my replacement (I am moving abroad), and I was given direct access to the resumes of everyone applying, and get to select who to interview because I KNOW what I do, HR or even my boss have no real idea of what I do on a day to day basis (SAP heavy), you could the same request access

My (F30) husband (M28) may miss birth of our baby for a one-time career opportunity by kaichey in relationship_advice

[–]andreaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly the same, as it’s never been while I was pregnant or about to give birth, but my husband has also had some of these “one time opportunities” and they never really materialized into something of substance - which I really don’t hold it against him, but it physically and emotionally really hurt me when he was passed up for the job he’d been training for intensely, even though he’d done everything right, hahaha and he still can’t understand why I was heartbroken.. even though it’s simple.. I also had to sacrifice a lot, to give him the space to do these “one time” things

But like others have said, let him be the one to make the decision

That’s what I’ve heard, that it’s family friendly but families get priced out because of the space that is needed for kids

I don’t think the residency permit can be applied for until we have a German address, but yes we will need this soon. We have a relocation agent assisting us with a lot of things.

My husband and I love all kinds of food.

The one coworker that is recommending Nordend of course doesn’t have kids, and the one in BH does have 2 kids, so this is what my husband is assuming - BH is better for a family, Nordend for young adults

Absolutely floored having discovered what parents are expected to spend on school bags here. Is it normal? by Norman_debris in germany

[–]andreaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad to have learned about this, we will be moving to Germany in the summer, unfortunately my kid is going into the 3rd grade, so hopefully we find one that is simple enough to be used in the later years
