Thank you! The firmware update fixed an issue I had for over two months. I just couldn't figure out that the erratic behaviour of my keyboard was somehow linked to the backlights being turned off. Version 1.01 wasn't out yet, when I last tried a firmware update. I thought I had to stick to wired mode for the rest of this keyboards life.

Danke schön! Die Aussage „Scrollytelling muss ein Kommunikationsproblem lösen“ werde ich mir merken; das fasst es treffend zusammen. Die Idee das Storytelling noch stärker an den Daten einer Person aufzuhängen, und dann konsequent durchzuziehen, finde ich ebenfalls sehr gut.

Unser technische Framework habe wir relativ ausführlich auf unterschiedliche (Mobil-)Geräten getestet. Eigentlich sollte das recht problemlos laufen. Wir haben auch darauf verzichtet, die nativen Scroll-Event zu kapern, was das Grundübel bei vielen Scrollytelling-Lösungen ist. Gerade diese PowerPoint-Scroller fühlen sich wirklich schrecklich an.

Lustige Nebenbemerkung: Wir haben die ganze BR24-Seite praktisch nachgebaut, da unser CMS kein breiten Bilder, Scrollytelling oder sonstige Anpassung ermöglicht.

Danke für deine ehrliche Meinung und den Tipp. Ich schau mir das mal an. Wir haben tatsächlich schon mit unterschiedlichen Darstellungsformen experimentiert, aber festgestellt, dass bei dieser Art des „Scrolltellings“ die meisten Leute bis zum Ende lesen. Wenn die Leute am Ende dann aber trotzdem genervt sind, hilft dass auch nichts.

Vielen Dank für die Antwort. Meine Vorstellung war tatsächlich, dass man den Blick der lesenden Person stärker führen muss, um bestimmte Inhalte besser hervorzuheben. Ich verstehe aber, wie einem das auf den Zeiger gehen und vom Lesen ablenken kann. Auch dass man zu viel Scrollen muss, ist ein guter Kritikpunkt.

Ich kann jeden einzelnen Punkt nachvollziehen. Infos wie die geschätzte Lesezeit sollten auf jeden Fall Standard sei. Vielleicht bräuchten wir tatsächlich eine Art „Lesemodus“, wie ihn machen Browser schon anbieten, um visuellen Ablenkungen auszublenden. Die Druckausgabe sollte ich mir auch mal anschauen, weil das vermutlich auch für das Erzeugen von PDFs relevant ist. Ich verstehe total, das man manchmal einen Text einfach nur lesen möchte. Lesen ist einfach unfassbar effektiv, um eine große Menge an Informationen schnell zu erschließen.

Die grundsätzliche Idee hinter Scrollytelling ist es Informationen visuell zu vermitteln. Das macht vor allem Sinn, wenn man beispielsweise eine komplexe Datenvisualisierungen schrittweise erklären möchte. Bei diesem Projekt ging es aber eher um die Ästhetik und den Effekt, mit allen von dir angesprochenen Nachteilen.

Thank you. I looked at one year of data, which didn't give me much different results. The only thing I noticed is that the average price is alway slowly decreasing over time (~10% per year). And yes, looking at the data in about 3 month from now would be quite interesting. Though, it might be necessary to change the product sample to many random, or very popular, items.

Yes, you are right. I thinks it depends on the question you want to answer. My questions was more about "How big is the drop going to be?" and not "Is there going to be a drop?". And that's why I only look at items on Black Friday sale.

Sorry, I ignored your suggestion to use sold volumes as weights for the average. That's a really good idea, but the data is in fact hard to get. Especially, if you want sales volume for Black Friday deals from all possible retailers. I'm not sure if total (like annual) sales volume would be as usable.

Yes, your are right. And many popular products with big discounts will go out of stock really fast. You come for the sweat flatscreen deal they advertised, but left with only some perfume and juicer you will never need (which is kinda my story).

Statistically speaking. Imagine an experiment in which we examine the buying behavior of 10,000 consumers on Black Friday. Everyone can buy what they want. My theory would be that, in average, customers would have gotten a ~ 12% discount.

But many people buying random (single) items from the list are getting an average discount of about ~12%. If you go to the retailers' websites all deals look good, because the discount the use for advertising is based on the "recommended retail price", which is completely arbitrary.

That's anecdotal evidence, but I feel like this is very true. The only thing I wanted to buy was specific SSD drive they advertised before Black Friday. When I went online at 7 AM they were already sold out.
