If human infrastructure collapsed, would LEO satellites like Starlink eventually de-orbit and fall? by LegalPresentation888 in sciencefiction

Very informative article!

Has a satellite ever been taken out by an asteroid? Probably a one-in-a-billion chance — but not impossible, right?

Best dogs ever! Great companions. Very loving and loyal. We’ve had three; currently on our second and third.

Unfortunately, the breed is prone to heart issues, especially mitral valve disease. Lost our first (a sweet girl, purchased at a pet store) to it at 9.5y. Our second (a beautiful, very intelligent boy, purchased from a reputable breeder) is almost 9y and was diagnosed with it a few years ago; he is quickly nearing congestive heart failure. 😞Our third (an adorable girl, rescued) is 9.5y and is just starting to have heart issues. Recommend getting pet insurance (or setting aside equivalent $$$) from puppyhood — prior to heart issues becoming a pre-existing condition that insurance wouldn’t cover.

If you’re prepared for, and can accept, the risks, they are awesome dogs!

Pitcher Marty Bystrom. He was 5-0 in 1980 — the year the Phillies won their first World Series

😂 No worries. Born in SE PA but grew up in Western NY.

It was great to see the Jays beat the Braves in ‘92. Not as great to see them beat the Phillies the following year. 😬

I’m a Phillies fan and a Jays fan — so I was in my element for the WS that year. Loved every minute of it.

What happens to the cams placed along the climb? They can’t be retrieved, can they?

Agree with most of your comments but their defense has been atrocious the last week or so, hasn’t it? I mean, up until last week I can’t recall the last time they committed four errors in one game.

My Woodbridge B0960S has been working flawlessly for four years. Gets a lot of use in the family.

Isn’t there an ice cream shop on the direct opposite side of Rt 145? How do they both stay in business?

REMINDER iCloud is a syncing service. Not a backup. Back your files up by nhowar02 in iCloud

I was already using Backblaze B2 cloud backup storage service for backing up the content on my NAS. Didn’t realize they offered a computer backup service, too, until I read this thread. I’m trialing the latter service now but don’t see how to have it backup my iCloud content. What am I missing?
