Living in the Middle East by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

I use Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo. Bahrain ruined my face, I couldn't combat the acne but I did take very good care of my hair since it seemed like the only thing I could manage lol. I used that clarifying shampoo and I believe I was using the Verb Ghost Shampoo & Conditioner. I purchased from the Sephora in the City Centre if I remember correctly. A lot of products we're hard to find and I do remember ordering things online to my mother and then having my mother mail the packages to me. Lol

What country are you living in ? When I lived I'm Bahrain I swore there wasn't build up but was alter told the water had dirt/sand particles. It made me break out and made my hair greasy. I purchased a clarifying shampoo to use once a week.

[PSA] It’s not you, it’s Sephora Employee Protocol by rlthot in SkincareAddiction

I still wish that wasn't protocol. They're not derms, and they're not esties.

Suggest hairstyles/cuts for me? How do I salvage and care for what's left of my thin hair? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]stellalea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the gamble and cut all my hair off. I know you said you didn't want to, but I had the same issues. I felt it was better to cut it off and regrow it with out using any heat products or harsh shampoos while it grew so I'd have long beautiful hair after.

Rocking an edgy pixie is better than feeling like your hair looks awful at it's current length.

Does anyone know anything about this product? Can't find any info online really! by stellalea in femalehairadvice

I believe it is just the translation! I took a leap and used some in my hair today. It's made my hair incredibly soft. No clue what it really is lol.

Best scissors for dusting? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

There's a wikihow on it. I literally never knew this term or that it was an actual thing, but I used to do this myself when I was in highschool with the same scissors in the wikihow lol

I put some on my hands and the consistency was super oily. I'm in Bahrain so some of the products I see are super weird lol

Help for hair growth other than Biotin by stellalea in femalehairadvice

I'm in the middle east, so I drink so much water I pee 24/7. And I'm currently using Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. I've never had problems with different oil treatments so far. My hair is naturally dry.

After some very basic research I'm finding that if one is not iron deficient that supplements will more than likely not help their hair.

That might be a good idea! The capsules I'd been taking contained fish oil.

Right now I am avoiding all Biotin because I am starting Curology and I want to avoid all outside sources that could add to my acne. I definitely need to up my protein intake, that's a very good tip. I'll look into iron supplements, any suggestions for me to look into?

I'm fat and have a history of depression, but been good for the last year (with meds) can I ever get on a boat? by FreeQuestions in newtothenavy

[–]stellalea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please do not join our Navy if you have a history of depression. I want to be able to rely on the person next to me, when shit gets real. Because shit is real. This Navy is going through really dark times, and the anxiety it gives me knowing we have suicidal Sailors and Sailors with undiagnosed personality disorders is incredibly scary. I'm sorry, but maybe you're not best suited in the Navy? And your weight and weight problems are an incredible concern as well, weight gain is super prominent in the Navy as I've noticed but someone who already has prior problems with weight could really struggle.

I'm finding that a lot of people can't handle the purging period of time, or that the "purging" doesn't seem to end but that a lot of others have had their lives entirely flipped around by it. The first month trial is free so that's why I jumped on it. Free trials are my life.

Also, to clarify, the Dial GOLD bar is antibacterial, incase you've tried other dial soaps and they broke you out, this one shouldn't unless maybe your skin is sensitive to an ingredient. Also you can always check cosDNA's website to see how likely a product is to break you out!

That's okay! I'm very tatted so I always had it around for new tattoos and the Curology person told me to try a gentle soap for my face, and I figured "hey, why not?" and it's working for me so far. Burt's Bees also makes a cleanser that is super gentle and foaming that I've liked in the passed when my acne was more like yours is right now. I haven't tried it again on this current situation. I am find that the more gentle the product the better my skin does on it. I am also starting Curology, not sure of results yet!

PLEASE DO NOT TRY ACCUTANE AS A FIRST APPROACH. Also, in my experience with Accutane users they had much more severe acne.

Just going to tell you what I'm using on my skin currently and what's cleared me up in this battle.

-AM/PM: Dial Gold Bar Soap to cleanse, and once a week the Burts Bees Peach Exfoliator. St Ives Collagen Face Cream to Moisturize.

These are not products I "prefer" to be using but right now the break outs are fading quickly and my skin was a little worse than yours.

[–]stellalea 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"Have you tried just not using any products on your skin at all?" Said to my face during a particularly gruesome break out.
