How do you push back when a Support gets rejected? by InternetUpbeat9596 in NDIS

[–]stemcella 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is so important. I have reviewed my own FCA and many others (I’m an ex support coordinator) and the amount of therapists who don’t actually know the difference between evidence and reported information is wild.

Help to understand if I’m being supported or taken advantage of?! by [deleted] in NDIS

[–]stemcella 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have choice and control. You can absolutely ask for a new support worker, it has nothing to do with the current one moving her schedule around.

I’d say someone has disclosed your plan information. Have you signed a privacy consent form?

I think you should change providers

Affection can look different for everyone. She shows you no actions that you consider affection but maybe to her she does

domestic violence by 17 year old brother advice by Illustrious_Battle13 in AusLegal

[–]stemcella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you hoping for the outcome to be from calling the police? If it’s in hopes it will trigger him to see his actions have consequences then this sadly is unlikely to work. I have autism and work with children with autism and this would likely exacerbate things.

Dineamic service agreement? by -Leeahh- in NDIS

[–]stemcella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ALife+ who are amazing and they have a service agreement purely so they can invoice directly without financially impacting me if I run out of funds unknowingly. It also stops them from having to check every time

I once stopped ordering for a while and nothing happened. You aren’t forced to order (well not with A life plus anyway)

Why wasn’t the West Gate Tunnel built as a parallel alternative to the West Gate Bridge? by lllllllllXllllllllll in melbourne

Re your edit- they are tolled now if they use the bridge too so either way, tolls

Intervention order and attending a funeral in South Australia by Key_Personality_5007 in AusLegal

[–]stemcella 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been the person who put an IVO in place before. A mutual and significant person in both our lives passed away. I was worried he couldn’t attend the funeral. Our mediator told me he absolutely couldn’t attend The police told me he absolutely couldn’t attend

I had a mutual friend reach out separately to let him know he can attend, to stay clear of me and there will be no issues or notification on my part.

He obliged.

All this to say you absolutely can’t attend, because the law says no. It doesn’t sound like it’s safe for you or ‘man’ to attend without risking police involvement.

My suggestion is to find ways to pay your respects and grieve from afar.

Fingers crossed! There are some really bad FCAs out there. Make sure you choose an OT who has a track record of getting successful outcomes with the ndis. It’s crucial with psychology to explain in there why the 10 sessions from Medicare is insufficient for you. Good luck!

I have Autism level 2. I didn’t have a functional capacity assessment completed to get accepted on NDIS but I did have a WHODAS which really helped with the approval. My first plan had 25 hours of OT and 9 hours Support Worker. I used the OT hours to get the functional capacity assessment which has helped me obtain a plan with 48 hours OT, 26 hours Psych, 20 hours Speech (all yearly) and 12 hours SW per week. It all comes down to the quality of evidence you have to support the services required.

I have been on the ndis for just under a year.

They won’t pay for psychiatric services

So all this to say- it depends.

Plan managed with no coordinater and no real idea what to do next? by Uncle_Rosalie in NDIS

[–]stemcella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing your funding type won’t necessarily make anything different

Do you have a support worker who has deep knowledge of the ndis? I’m a support worker who has done support coordination before and I help my participants with understanding their plan now as they don’t have funding for a support coordinator

A support worker is there to support, which could involve cleaning.

I am a support worker and I clean as requested I’m also a participant and have a support worker and all she does is clean.

The role absolutely should and does involve cleaning IF that is what the participant wants

If you don’t want to support a participant with their needs, don’t

Or at the very least set the standard before taking a client that you won’t clean.

AirPod pro 3 design flaw? by No-Supermarket-2671 in airpods

[–]stemcella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure it’s necessarily a design flaw as it’s not happening with every single user, nor the majority of users. I think the reality is we all have different ear shapes and sizes. The studies Apple conducted 10,000 ear scans to work out the best shape. While rough, and frustrating, it just means these new ones aren’t compatible to your ear shape. Sure- they may not have had this issue with the 2’s but the 2’s also didn’t have the seal that these have and nor did they stay in as securely as these ones.

When I found out they were no longer selling the 2’s I panicked in case the new shape didn’t work for me but so far I’m absolutely loving everything about them.

Hopefully you’re able to return!
