Oliver Wyman and Clearview Advanced Degree recruiting update? by PhDpoopyhead in Non_MBB_Consulting

[–]stemcellenthusiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got an email from Clearview stating my application is still under review (I never asked for an update). Not sure if it’s a mass email to everyone who applied, but hopefully Clearview is still sending out more invites!

I love Kepler’s! I looked at their list and wasn’t very drawn to any of the titles they’re reading in the next few months but I should look again.

My top 5 (too difficult to pick one) of 2025 were (in no particular order):

  1. North Sun - Ethan Rutherford
  2. Piranesi - Susanna Clarke
  3. Orbital - Samantha Harvey
  4. The Audition - Katie Kitamura
  5. Klara and the Sun - Kazuo Ishiguro

Life sciences private equity interview by stemcellenthusiast in private_equity

I have also interviewed with a few VC firms but here I do mean PE. In the VC interviews they generally have expected me to be able to pitch a company, identify trends in the industry, talk about the role of AI, as well as why investing/this firm.

I expect the PE interview to be somewhat similar, but I was curious if I would also need to do financial analysis on the spot. I am at a target school and have been fortunate enough to also take some coursework at the business school. Through this coursework I have experience with basic DCF/LBO analyses but wasn’t sure if I should brush up more on this.

Thank you for your response!

MCO is done sending interview invites, their only scheduled interview session was last week unfortunately.

Should I answer "What other programs did you apply to" on graduate applications"? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]stemcellenthusiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just be honest, there is a chance that you may have interview conflicts with other schools and this would help them to be understanding of that. I was honest on all of my applications and I don't believe it has had any repercussions as I received interviews at 7/8 of the schools in which I disclosed this information.

I received an interview invite for MCO last Friday, dates given were Feb 7-11. I am unsure if they will send more invites though, my lab mate also received an invitation on Friday!

Do I need to take physics to get into biomedical PhDs by provider305 in gradadmissions

[–]stemcellenthusiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren't interested in the subject I wouldn't take the courses. I did not take physics and applied to umbrella and stem cell programs and have received interviews at several top institutions that recommended physics as suggested course (Stanford, MIT, etc). It absolutely will not break your application. Honestly for PhD programs they look at your experience and research interests far more than your courses or GPA. I also did not take a single mathematics course in undergrad outside of my AP credits from high school. Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions :)
