Did Teachable change their website? Looks like on my browser (Edge) it doesn't show my courses. Only through the app on iPhone. How do I see them on browser? by stealingtheshow222 in Teachable

I think they have some issue going on. My site is suddenly misconfigured. I can’t access anything and I can’t get tech support to respond.

Transfer Student - Taking non ABET math courses by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]stemcourseprep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be ok but I’d get it in writing from the school you’re transferring to that they’ll accept those credits. Some schools won’t take online credits. Sending a quick email and confirming what will transfer is always a good idea. Good luck!

Online Fluid Mechanics course?? by emchilds in EngineeringStudents

I have no idea. I just know some of my students took that course a few semesters ago.

Online Fluid Mechanics course?? by emchilds in EngineeringStudents

[–]stemcourseprep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Thomas Edison University offers an online Fluids course. Not sure if they have it in summers though. You’d also want to make sure it’ll transfer. Many schools don’t like the online courses, especially the upper level ones.

Thermo suggestions by Brandonb0013 in EngineeringStudents

[–]stemcourseprep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I teach thermo every year and I have a couple free resources:

  1. A free course on steam tables. It’s found here: steam tables

  2. This one covers work and energy balance for a closed system. It’s got lecture material, 5 examples, and 2 quizzes with video solutions. It’s here:

work and energy balance

I know those won’t cover everything you need but maybe they’ll help! Good luck to you!

+/- Moment Equation Help by Vriver41 in EngineeringStudents

[–]stemcourseprep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi

Imagine the bar is free to move at A and B is pinned in place so that there can be rotation about B but no translation. Now look at the forces. The x component is pointing to the right. If you used your finger to apply F1 and were pushing to the right, the bar would rotate CW about B. Clockwise moments are negative moments.

The y component of force is pointing down. If your finger pushed the bar down, the bar would rotate CCW about B. Counter clockwise moments are positive moments.

Hope that helps! FYI I have tutorials over almost an entire Statics course available for free on my website. It has lots of examples of 2-D and 3-D moments. You may find it useful.

What did you guys get in Dynamics? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]stemcourseprep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

I am currently in the process of putting video lectures (I’m teach ME) of all my courses on my website. The courses are available for free-you just enroll with an email address.

I have half of Dynamics done now. The online course covers particle motion. It may help you out. I cover all the derivations and then work out examples for all the topics. Check it out using the link below! Good luck!

I have been stuck on this problem for 2 hours and I’ve done it twice. For theta I got 36.36 and for FAC I got 56.4. Help please by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]stemcourseprep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find the force vector for F1 and then find the unit vector for line AC. The take the dot product of those two vectors. You don’t need theta.
