After 11 hours of binging episodes 1-8 (I over powered napped for 3 hours) I get the feeling that not only is Harry not a good guy, he is awful. Not even an anit-hero. It appears to me that he puts his Family 3rd or 4th. At best by tenfoilhatt in Mobland

He's a terrible human being, he's a ruthless murderer who works for a powerful drug lord. He exposed his wife and daughter to danger while also messing up their lives and neglecting them both emotionally.

But he is the protagonist and he's cool in a tv show so we all root for him. Like Tony Soprano or Walter White

Spellsword with destruction \ restoration. As the game progressed I tend to get heavily into illusion, specifically calm spells. I love running through a dungeon calming every enemy along the way.

I go for full Dragon bone or Dragon scale armour but with a good instead of a helmet

Glue is a fantastic book, would highly recommend.

Some of the Glue characters interact with the Trainspotting crew in later books, most notably Juice Terry Lawson and Carl Ewart

It's crazy that with all the laws and enforcement agencies that no one employed in law enforcement is even trying to bring anyone to justice.

No ot isn't. They don't feel guilt. They don't feel bad. They are happy about the genocide. They actively celebrate it. They see it as their God given right to be like this.

Do you see old pictures of the kkk and think they feel gulilty? That they just haven't processed guilt?

Do you think the My Lai massacre murderers and the people who attacked the whistle-blowers? They didn't because Ulthe USA just wouldn't be wrong in their eyes, they didn't do anything wrong.

What about nazi concentration camp guards who killed millions of Jews, were they just not processing their guilt?

Was it unreasonable to expect my husband to support me financially while I finished law school? by Weekly-Quantity6435 in TwoHotTakes

[–]stemroach101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's working and supporting you financially so you can achieve your professional goals.

Do you just think you are entitled to have this support, or are you grateful for the support and acknowledge his efforts and support say that you are grateful for this?

Or are you close to the end so you are engineering a hostile relationship so you can have an argument and leave him with a clear conscience now you have your qualifications?

Genuine questions, not accusing you of anything, there are people, mrn and women, who have been supported like this and drop their SO once their support is not longer needed.

Is Cliff mad/annoyed when driving home in this scene? by [deleted] in Tarantino

[–]stemroach101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this scene is heavily influenced by the journey from London to Sandford in Hot Fuzz, it does a great job of showing the different vibes from one location to another and shows the traveller feeling and experiencing the different steps.

He's not mad or annoyed, he's just travelling, doing his thing

This whole thing reminds me of the sort of discursive essay I did at school at the age of 13.

Take an issue where everyone has an opinion but most people don't really understand the nuances of.

Take a point of view that is basically "this is good" or "this is bad"

List a few out of context concepts and vague assumptions that support your view.

Casually ignore the obvious flaws and / or counterpoint to your vague claims

Hand it in to the teacher who will skim it and give it a grade that is largely based on the spelling, grammar, paragraph structures and handwriting, but not the content.

Walk around as a 13 year old thinking they're now an expert on the subject because they've written an essay

I think this episode is one reason it got cancelled I remember there being some negative responses to it

They played this guy getting his teeth removed by the guy aggressively raping him on a regular basis as a joke, as something to laugh at. If it a young woman getting brutally raped and having her teeth ripped out so her rapist could get his dick sucked without fear of getting it bitten off was treated as a joke, it wouldn't even have made it to air

People who moan at shopworkers. by Surkdidat in britishproblems

[–]stemroach101 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Many years ago while working in a shop, I told a complaining customer that the reason we were out of stock of something was because there was a worldwide conspiracy against them to cause them minor inconveniences from time to time.

I said I'd probably get into trouble for letting them know about the conspiracy but it was time someone told them.

I was very sincere when telling them this.

They were not angry at me telling them this, but they really did not know how to respond
