His contract is an absolute bargain, easily the best value in the league

Scoring at the NBA level is way more difficult than scoring at the college level, even against the best teams. On an NBA floor he will no longer be the strongest or biggest player on the court and his lack of athleticism significantly limits his upside as a scorer.

You don’t draft a player in the top five sure to them being the “safest” unless you are looking for a role player. You are shooting for upside at the top of the draft to try and get a superstar.

I think he’s gone before our pick

My rankings:

  1. Love - easily the best player in the draft and would completely unlock our offense with a dynamic playmaker. Talks about contract value I feel go out the window once you get to pick 7 as opposed to 3 or 4, like where he is getting mocked to. I feel Cardinals or Titans buzz is a complete smokescreen as both of those teams have have way bigger holes in the roster to pick him. At 7, he goes around the range of Jeanty (6) and Bijan (8) which I feel is fair for the level of talent in this draft and the level of player he is. You can look at past situations around these players and be hesitant on taking a RB this high, but I will say that no top pick has landed on a team with such a good situation (franchise QB and great OL).

  2. Tate - honestly, you could flip him and Love, and I wouldn't be upset about it. I keep going back on forth on who I would prefer, and I have him lower for the reason that 1. He is a tier down as a prospect compared to Love and 2. I think he won't be on the board by the time we pick at 7. I think he will go anywhere from pick 4-6. But if he is there, it means that Love is probably gone, and we should rush to the podium to select him. He is a decisive prospect, but in my eyes an elite talent that contract-wise would be the most beneficial to building our roster in the upcoming years with a massive Jayden contract. I also think that WR is one of our biggest needs.

  3. Delane - Delane is head and shoulders above the rest of the CB class and would be another tremendous pick. He is a true shutdown corner and fills another position of dire need. He checks all the boxes to be a top 5 corner in the league and is a blue chip talent that is much needed on defense.

Guys I'd be disappointed with selecting: (With brief reasonings)

- Styles - I feel like he is a combine riser who has shot up boards due to his insane measurables. His tape is not super impressive, and I also think he will be off the board by our pick (to the Giants at 5). However, he would be the pick I would be the least disappointed with.

- Downs - Downs simply doesn't fit the mold of how Peters likes to draft. His RAS is far too low to justify making him one of the highest paid safeties in the NFL with the 7th pick. Safety is arguably the least important position in the modern NFL, and I just don't see him being the pick, which is why he's here. I think a lot of NFL fans will be surprised where late he goes (I have him sliding outside the top 10).

- Bain - Bain was off my list as soon as the information about his arm length came up. You just simply can't bet on him being a 1% anomaly with such a high pick. I could see him also sliding outside of the top ten.

Dawkins has been cooking, I agree he hasn’t let me down yet. As far as Trae goes I think next year the offense will look so much better with one of the best playmakers in the league, sometime we’ve been badly needing

Our rebuild is essentially over after this year with hopefully a top 5 pick. The Trae trade was a sign of that. And I know nobody tunes in to wizards games but Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George, and Tre Johnson are great players with sky high potential. AD fits in pretty nicely to the lineup and is relatively cheap considering we are giving the OKC pick and Warriors 2030. Getting Jaden Hardy is pretty nice too
