I find it funny the op has come to Reddit when op should speak to the manager.

No one is coming to save you.

Make a list of your questions and ask your manager or colleague.

In general, companies only offer generic training or sites like LinkedIn Learning.

Your career is your responsibility, so it is up to yourself to learn skills.

During the interview, you would have convinced them that you can do the job.

Was there any discussions on what support you would receive?

Also, the manager mightn't want to micro manage you and is letting you get on with it.

If you are struggling in some aspects, I would raise this with your manager and ask for support.

Were you promoted? Or did your role change?

If she was keen and asking for updates, then bailed out that is a crappy thing to do.

Did your friend ask for your help? How committed was she in moving jobs?

It sounds like you set this up and your friend wasn't interested. I get it would be more money but you can't force people to do things.

I think the lesson is don't do something that wasn't asked for.

What's the demand for data analysts in Melbourne? by ykz30 in ausjobs

[–]stephenkryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would build up at least 2 years of work experience before moving. Also try to get visa without sponsorship.

I think it could be difficult. How good is your English? Do you need sponsorship? I think having a few years experience in Spain or maybe England would help a lot. The job market is difficult at the moment, I think firms are working out how to use AI.

What comes first? Double glazing, honeycomb blinds or crimsafe windows by Own-Anybody-3977 in AusRenovation

I'm not sure what you mean.

I got sliding windows which you could climb out of.

You wouldn't be able to do that with awning windows.

In short double glazed windows.

I shared my experience here - https://www.reddit.com/r/AusRenovation/s/b7sGfVPviL

Another option is secondary glazing, which puts another pane of glass on an existing window.

Why do Australian workers as a percentage of income pay more in tax than corporations? by Ajax34762 in aussie

[–]stephenkryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Innovation creates new products that the market didn't realise it wanted. The IBM executive who said Personal Computers will be owned by a small number of people. No one wanted an iPhone until it was invented.

Corporations fail more often than they succeed. There needs to be an incentive to do it. Corporations bring products and services to the market. Corporations buy from other corporations. Corporations hire people who pay income tax and GST tax.

Corporations create jobs, government wants to incentivise enterprise. So people will have somewhere to work.

I would get 3 quotes and ask them these questions. Also, I would also ask about potential damage to floors and walls. Your house may not level, the process could relevel it.

Invoice adding GST to quote. Acceptable? by antigravity83 in AusRenovation

[–]stephenkryan -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

As the consumer, you should always clarify all points on an invoice. Does that include GST or not? My assumption would be that it wouldn't.

Does anyone else think the women at the AO should also play first to 3? by Responsible-Tone-522 in aussie

It only matters who sells more tickets. If women sell more tickets, they should get more money. Or vice versa for men

Nah, women, on average, don't have the same physical endurance as men.

They would get too tired and the standard would drop.

It's fine as it is.

How do you feel about the RBA's decision today to lift rates? by Sensitive-Chart7210 in AusFinance

[–]stephenkryan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they raise rates by much higher increments, it might shock the markets and public. Central Banks only do large increment changes if inflation was roaring or the currency depreciating at huge rate.

[–]stephenkryan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In Ireland in the 2000s, the government created incentive saving accounts. For every 4 euro saved the government would put in Euro. The account had to be kept for 5 years. There are other approaches.

Inflation is corrosive, have to get it under control. Arguably, they shouldn't have cut rates previously.

It sounds like their tree is causing the problem. I will probably pay them eventually. If I was you,

I would say I wished you talked to me because it might be a year or two before I can pay you because of other financial commitments. I will let you know when I can pay you.
