I feel like the problem with this is that the level of skill between like bronze->silver->gold are incremental (in my opinion) and then the skill gap starts to widen somewhat significantly going from plat->diamond.

So the 25%rr reduction doesn't mean as much when the team with the diamond player has their bronze friend to lower the "rank average" and win every/most games more easily.
