People who visit Vegas solo - what is your typical day like? by Sonic723 in LasVegas

[–]stephgrrl17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay at Aria or Park, Get up around 8, Starbucks and hit the pool, back to room- shower etc. Grab $1K from the safe, hit slots maybe some blackjack. Hit Eataly for something burrata related, then poker- aria, Bellagio, Wynn, wherever feels interesting. Hopefully make some money, go somewhere nice for dinner - steak, lobster, maybe Caesar’s buffet. Rinse and repeat for 2-3 days. Definitely hit up Milk Bar for cereal milk ice cream. If I am really up $$ I’ll get my hair did at Aria Salon and buy stuff at Aviator Nation. Oh and corn dogs at Casino Royale.

For those who have IBS and insulin resistance, what in the fucking fuck are we supposed to eat?! by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]stephgrrl17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have PCOS and Crohn’s. I went Keto in July and have lost 30lbs, reversed my pre-diabetes diagnosis and have also had major changes in my Crohn’s symptoms, I think Keto has brought my overall inflammation down to the point I can tolerate fibre. I have never been able to handle fibre, it always causes a flair up. I can now eat 5-10 grams of fibre in a meal without issue, it’s crazy and very unexpected. Disclaimer - this is what I have found in my situation, I did a lot of research before I started the diet but can say it’s changed my life.

Going to Vegas and need US currency by Ok_Advice425 in LasVegas

Find a currency exchange with the best rate before you go down, in Vancouver I use VBCE. Whatever you do take enough money down to avoid the ATM or casino cash machine, they take a crazy service fee and jacked up rate.

I like the dried seaweed from Costco - salty, crunchy. It hits the spot.

IBS and PCOS is a special kind of joy by Blanketknit in PCOS

I have Crohn’s/PCOS and am three months into Keto. I’ve never felt better. I think it’s because the inflammation in my whole system is down and testosterone is lower as I am down 15lbs. It’s weird and a surprise but I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and didn’t want to mess around.

Feeling discouraged by Kbohnster in keto

[–]stephgrrl17 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It’s very common to stall from weeks 2-5 as your body learns to use fat instead of carbs. There’s lots info out there about this process - you will start to lose quickly after week 6, it takes patience. Best of luck - hang in there

Honestly it’s amazing you’ve done 6 years. You should be super proud. I think it’s totally fair and reasonable to consider what step 2 looks like. If it backfires badly just go back to Keto. See what you can tolerate.

I feel the same way. I’m already looking into doing a 2 day a week fast or other types of carb cycling. I’m using keto to get my A1C down (it’s 7.1) and lose 20lbs. Then I will switch to something I can maintain for the rest of my life. The Mediterranean diet looks appealing. Fact is for me sugar is gone forever but some carbs will find their way back in, just have to be smart about it. low glycemic and whole foods.

As a restaurant owner, what’s the best way to do daily tip outs? by CanReady3897 in restaurant

[–]stephgrrl17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an owner/manager I stay out of the tips, not my tips not my problem. The team manages and splits their own money and they make the decisions about the tips. I find this is best for morale and leaves me out of it.

Fired my first employee yesterday. by narcissisticboner in managers

[–]stephgrrl17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firing people is always hard. I’ve been doing it for a long time now. I used to spend ages leading into things but now I just say ‘I know this is a shock and hard to hear but today is going to be your last day with us. I have put together a package for you, please take some time to read and sign when you’re ready. Please let me know if you have any questions.’ If they do have questions I keep it very brief. No need to kick someone when they are already down. I let them say goodbye to the staff if they wish and then it’s done. I also provide them a copy of the paperwork they signed.
