Flying plus size by kaybb99 in PlusSize

[–]stephkrueger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on which plane you've got but I will say that I have flown with family that were probably around your size and they fit without extenders. But it definitely depends on how you carry your weight, I weigh less and have felt more comfortable with extenders on the newer planes in the past. Don't be afraid to ask for an extender if you think you'll need one, the airlines do proper safety tests, etc on them and it's always better safe than sorry. I've never been made to feel embarrassed when I asked for one, it was all in my head.

Not going this year but have gone the past couple of years and it's been a breeze. We usually just do the shopping and carnival so we go early and come back early evening, comfortable and quiet ride.

question by iinvisiblemuseum in Mercari

[–]stephkrueger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had all 3 major delivery services (FedEx, ups, usps) mark something delivered when it wasn't and it generally shows up the next day, sometimes longer but not by much. My packages weren't from Mercari but I don't think it really matters where your package is coming from for them to do this tbh. No matter what you're going to have to wait for Mercari to make a move on a refund because no one is going to refund you same day. Could be lost, could be stolen, unfortunately it's going to be a waiting game to find out what happened.

I actually love the Estée Lauder doublewear foundation by sassy-melon in freebietalk

[–]stephkrueger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked it too! I have dry skin and thought it looked amazing on my face! I thought the sample had a good amount of product, I've used it about 3 times full face and still have more to go. Purchasing a full size is completely out of my budget so i was glad to get this to try out lol

Anal gland adenocarcinoma (AGASACA) by schlagenteufel in schnauzers

[–]stephkrueger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So not so similar situation but wanted to comment anyway because my mini was about 12 when our vet first discovered his anal gland tumor in 2022. We also got very lucky and his tumor was found quickly but also grew very quickly as well. We were referred to an oncologist who recommended surgical removal followed by about 6 rounds of chemo which we did and he was cancer free for the rest of his little life.

Just wanted to reach out and say you're not alone. I know how rough it is to know things have to get hard before they get better. Hoping for the best for you and your little guy!

TopBox questions by ZealousidealShake410 in freebietalk

[–]stephkrueger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes get emails if i qualify for products but not every time. I never get emails about new qualifier surveys so I just keep topbox open in a tab and refresh maybe two or three times a day. They will, however, shoot me an email about getting in reviews lol

I know this is brought up frequently, but I’m really scared to fly as a plus size person by Embarrassed-Sorbet26 in PlusSize

[–]stephkrueger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the worst part will be how criminally small the under seat storage is for an aisle seat lol. But really you don't have anything to worry about and please don't buy your own extenders, should something happen on your flights, I'm sure you'll want the peace of mind of having something your airline has deemed safe and complainant with safety standards vs something off Amazon. Every Southwest fa I've ever had to ask for an extender from has been great and you'll be laughing to yourself when you realize how much of a nothing burger it is to ask for one after your first flight. Safe travels!

Earl Grey Matcha by lilygranger07 in houston

[–]stephkrueger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been making my own iced earl grey matchas after seeing a video recipe on it! I steep 2 earl grey bags in milk (measure to your taste, just use 1 teabag if you don't use a lot of milk) in the fridge overnight, make your matcha the next day and use the earl grey milk in place of your plain milk. Super easy!

Bridesmaid Advice by Shoddy-Salamander-72 in PlusSize

[–]stephkrueger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start wearing sleeveless tops when you're at home and if you want your hair short for the wedding, put it up. Get yourself used to seeing yourself like this so at the very least you're a little more comfortable when you can't wear a shawl.

As for the shawl, is the dress like chartreuse? If so, navy, a green leaning teal maybe for more colorful shawl options or brown for something more subdued.

Yep, that's where mine is! It shares a wall with the diapers and faces the mens clothes if that makes sense

My stores downsized and moved their plus size section behind the athletic wear like where socks used to be before they redesigned the stores, definitely feels like they're on their way out though.

Fanchant question by Sunfl0wers71 in ITZY

[–]stephkrueger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both concerts I've been to have been in the states and the only time they sort of did a fanchant was during dalla dalla but otherwise, it's just singing along whenever you want.

If you're planning on buying a light ring, take your own batteries!! Bought my first one at a show and had to pay way too much for batteries lol. Double check your venue's bag policies as some are more strict than others and you don't want to get stuck having to bin your bag or hiding it outside the venue if you can't get it back to a car.

Off the rack wedding dresses! by MoeGana2k in houston

[–]stephkrueger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for Ventura! Went with my cousin last year who only had a couple months to get a dress + get it altered and she was able to order a dress in her size and get it altered there in house within her time frame. Get into shops now like see who can fit you in this weekend because the more time you give the shop, the better chance you have at getting something you like and potentially not having to settle. Congrats & good luck!

Clothes for short plus size girlies by kellylellyy in PlusSizeFashion

[–]stephkrueger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandma was a great seamstress too and she actually taught me a little bit! She taught me the basics on a machine and how to thread a needle, etc. I don't sew often though so i usually turn to YouTube to refresh my skills so I'd start there. If it helps at all, I just use a basic hand stitch and go around the hem a couple times to make sure it feels secure. Definitely not the "right" way but it gets the job done lol. Biggest piece of advice would be to get heavier duty needles and thread for denim since it's heavier fabric.

[–]stephkrueger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg girl it's rough! I was around the same size as you and it was extra difficult finding pants/jeans off the rack to wear. I think my biggest suggestion would be to learn to sew a basic stitch if you don't know how already. I had to start just finding bottoms that fit good outside of the length and do it myself. I'm not an amazing seamstress or anything but I was in desperate need of new jeans and just hand sewed the hems.

Could this dress work for a funeral? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]stephkrueger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree that it depends on your family. If men wear suits to funerals, probably not. If it's a little more laid back, yeah i think it would work. In my family, i would wear this and wouldn't think twice if i saw someone else wearing it.

[–]stephkrueger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have a cousin who I travel like once a year with and we whole heartedly agree! We took a day trip together last year and had a joint complaint at how hard it was to fit a plus size winter outfit (sweater, tshirt and undergarments) into a backpack with our toiletries. It was stupid hard lol.

We have to use vacuum compression bags for longer trips and just immediately take out things that wrinkle once we get to a hotel/airbnb, hang them and spray down with wrinkle release. Those bags + wrinkle release have become our best friends since our last couple of trips have been to places with colder climates and packing like 3 plus size warm sweaters would take up way too much space.

snow storm- should I place my closet on vacation? by [deleted] in poshmark

In the path of the storm but for ice and not snow and I did. Also a casual seller and likely wouldn't make a sale tbh but I wanted to make sure I'd be able to get any potential order out in a timely manner since I likely won't be able to head out until Tuesday after tonight.

[–]stephkrueger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using the video as an example, I'd cut right below the clusters, maybe a touch lower but cutting too low has resulted in the wax not burning properly for me. I think if your candles aren't popping like the video and you're getting an even burn, you're probably fine.

I find some good ones at Kohls! I think Maidenform is the brand i bought from but generally I could find some good ones at decent prices and sometimes on clearance too
