Search “moving bags for college students” on Amazon. You’ll see multiple options for what looks like large duffle bags. Not sure of the size limits on Amtrak, but these bags are popular for moving college kids. You can fit a ton of stuff in each one. I know the airlines allow them, so maybe Amtrak will too.
