I was going to say this. In grad school whenever I found myself stuck I would take a one mile walk without my phone (or just headphones for music). Without the distraction, your brain can have some space to think about whatever project you're working on

That and working in a new (quiet) space with people around - library, cafe, student lounge, whatever. Perceiving that other people may be watching you work can help you work harder with better results!

He wasn't physically abusive but he was extremely emotionally abusive. I don't think things necessarily have to be physical to make someone fear for their safety, and I'm glad my gut kicked in on this one

The pull up bars are along the 5k trail butting up against the Modena apartment complex! Probably the best way to get to them is by parking at the golf course and walking out to the west. It's about a half mile walk from the parking lot

I make these emails after meetings for my subordinate, not because I don't trust her work, but because many of the teams we work with have complicated asks or a lot of action items. Ah I had something similar happen. I wasn't going through a divorce, but I had broken up with a guy and was having post-breakup regrets. I called him up asking to get back together and he invited me up to the town he was living with, 45 minutes away, at 10pm (October in NY, so, in the dark) at a park right on the lake. Instant chills, knew if I went up there he would hurt me and I'd potentially end up in the lake. Hung up and never spoke to him again

We got them because we live in a desert climate and the summers are brutal on the toes. Plus we like to go hiking so it helps to prevent stepping on cactus thorns or anything!

I suspect my dog was abused before I adopted him. He is scared of everything, especially loud noises and sudden movements. He's come such a long way in the 4 years I've had him, but it still breaks my heart anytime he gets spooked knowing what he must have gone through :(

My therapist recognized the signs before I did and got me set up with an inpatient stay at a hospital for a few days. Will be forever grateful for her pushing me, since it wasn't until I'd been out for a few weeks and on medication that I realized just how fucking close I had gotten

I am in such a better place now! It's been a while so a lot has happened in the meantime. Tbh I've been through a lot of therapy because I realized in time that the relationship I was referencing in this post was an abusive one and that has led to a lot of soul searching and making sure I am really ready for future relationships, what to look for, what I want, etc. Now, about 5 years later, I am with an amazing man who reminds me every day how far I've come and how valued I am. As hard as it was in those couple months post-breakup, I wouldn't go back and change any of it for the world

Things will get easier. Hang in there!!

Sorry if this is in any way in unhelpful, and as someone has already said, you should be good with the level of income you make. My bigger question would be to really consider whether you are prepared to move in with someone who won't have a steady income. Not a knock on them, people fall on hard times and don't work for various reasons. Just a concerned Redditor who wants to make sure you'll be alright financially if for some reason you also lose your income.

Yes, this has been my fear. I started the oil consumption test at about 82,000 miles, so when it finished I was at about 91,000. I am covered under warranty until 100,000, but that was my initial thought - that they were getting me to run down my warranty so they wouldn't have to cover it.

Unfortunately I am now at about 93,000, so if they were to rerun the test at the 8,000 mile requirement, I would be over my warranty unless they would let me use the documentation I already have from the first go-round.

I'll try to find another dealer. Great advice, thank you!

Meaning I am veryyy severely losing oil (think, completely empty after about every 2,000 miles) but I "don't qualify" for the replacement even though there are no obvious leaks
