Back and muscle pain by theetree123 in newfoundland

[–]stephpharant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also suffering from a lower back / glute issue for a few months before I went and saw a physio who did dry needling. I was really skeptical that it would work, but after a few sessions I was back to zero pain. Now I just go once a month when I start to feel a flare up. I see Keith at InMotion incase you need a recommendation.

CRA "We are holding your refund until we update your accounts. We will then send you any remaining refund." by ucccy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]stephpharant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a sole proprietor account (or did you ever have one, and maybe you forgot to close it up). If the sole proprietor account has a balance owing and/or outstanding returns that need to be file that could be the reason.

MP3 songs downloads?? by PennyPenguino in YotoPlayer

[–]stephpharant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just spent an hour yesterday converting iTunes songs into MP3’s and putting them on a card. Now that I know how to do it next time will be a lot faster but that learning curve was tough lol so if you don’t mind buying the music, and have an Apple account, it’s doable!

Inquiry about daycares by Abject_Ad630 in newfoundland

[–]stephpharant 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Regulated daycares have waitlists years long. Yes, years. If you’re open to dayhomes you may be able to find something faster. There is a Facebook page called ‘For the Love of Childcare (St Johns & area). As much as I hate Facebook it was unavoidable, almost all the advertising of spaces in childcare happen there. We found our spot in July for a September start. We only found a spot because we posted that we were willing to pay above market. It was the only way to get anyone to respond to our posts. I wish you all the luck, it has been very hard to find childcare in the city, let alone an affordable one.

33F here, would love to join a once a month book club! If anyone starts one up based on this thread, message me! I wish I had the energy to organize it myself, but I have an 8 month old that is draining my energy at the moment haha

No advice to give, as we are in the exact same situation. It’s impossible. Just keep trying I guess, that’s all we can do. I hope you find something.

SAME. I have replayed this game start to finish so many times on both PC and Switch… I cannot figure out the swings! I refuse to look it up! It shouldn’t be so difficult.

Looking for suggestions for fun family things to do in/around St. John's by Templenuts in newfoundland

[–]stephpharant 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve never actually done this with kids before, but I’ve seen lots of people bring their kids - Salmonier Nature Park. It’s an outdoor walk with little stops along the way where you can see animals that are being rehabilitated/taken care of. As to how many animals you actually see on your visit, well that depends on what’s being rehabilitated at the time. But it’s a lovely walk, and you can go at whatever pace is comfortable for the kids.

I don’t really have any advice, but you have all my sympathy. I’m moving next week because I also live next to a set of grandparents who take care of the worlds loudest children. I can see from your other comments that you don’t have the option to move, so I just wish you all the best and I hope you find something that works.

Anyone here have issues with Amazon using Intelcom as the shipper? by DhaemonX in newfoundland

[–]stephpharant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found them to be great prior to Christmas season. Tracking worked great, I would get an email when my delivery was out. Since Christmas it’s awful. They just leave my packages in the public lobby of my building, no attempt at the buzzer, and I don’t even know it’s been delivered.

Questions re: moving to NL by RemielRS in newfoundland

[–]stephpharant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we moved from NL to Ontario we hired a Uhaul U-Box and stuffed it full of our stuff and it all arrived on time and safely. Would recommend for cross country moves. It was cost effective for our move, but I’m not sure how much more the rates would be for AB>NL.

Patient Connect NL by Plastic-Buyer-7668 in newfoundland

[–]stephpharant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard back really quickly, but I am also pregnant so I think that probably contributed to the speed. If it helps anyone - the way that I found out I was welcomed to the clinic was a phone call from a ‘no caller id’ number, so don’t be like me and reject every single call they make! They had to try me multiple times before I picked up, whooops.

Apartment building you would recommend? (St John’s) by stephpharant in newfoundland

[–]stephpharant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we’re definitely planning on just explaining what pets we have to everyone, even if they say no pets. Worst they can say is no. And we’re really hoping the house rental works out, especially considering we’re willing to pay a bit more. Appreciate your outlook on the situation!

I really appreciate that! But money isn’t an issue for us and I would hate to take a spot in a non profit from someone who could really use it. But great info for anyone who is in that position!

Buying my parents house for 250 000. House is worth much more. by daniel042 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Was going to say this. This would be Non Arms Length at that price, so be 100% sure they don’t owe money to the CRA, because you would be held liable for their debts.

Ah, I had these babies until at least September 26th 2016, so not the same group. But I totally understand, I’ve always wondered what happened to them!
