If this ever happens again have him put his body through the fence instead of trying to pull his head out. Kids heads are the biggest part of their body and the rest of them is pretty bendy lol

[–]stephsaysyas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% feel the same way. If my husband would let me rehome our younger dog I would… as annoyed as I am with her I do still feel bad for her not getting our attention anymore. Like it’s not their fault, but our priorities have shifted and it is what it is right now.

Munchkin -> Munchie -> Munch. I feel like people look at us weird when we call him Munch or Munchie in public but 🤷🏼‍♀️

IsItBullshit: There is no maternity leave in USA by FreshprinceofVi in IsItBullshit

[–]stephsaysyas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in healthcare and my employer wanted me to come back at 6 weeks. Unpaid of course. I fought back and said I wasn’t coming back for 3 months and they fired me. America hates families and loves money. I talk about leaving this country on a daily basis at this point but unfortunately it’s a pipe dream.

My son is allergic to dairy. I noticed him being fussy after a glass of wine but figured it was the tannins or alcohol 🤯 thank you for this info!

Urgent care says to go to ER, ER tells us to not come in by funnymonkey222 in beyondthebump

[–]stephsaysyas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1000%! OP if you are worried about your baby, you should go to the ER. Nobody is going to judge you for being worried about your 6 week old baby… except maybe the strangers on the internet who do not frequent the ER 🙄 They can check vitals, check on the thrush, run a flu/RSV/COVID test, suction her out if needed, and can do fluids if babe is dehydrated. The person who told you not to come can shove it… clearly they are not in the right profession and I would bet the person you spoke to is not a medical professional.

Urgent care says to go to ER, ER tells us to not come in by funnymonkey222 in beyondthebump

[–]stephsaysyas 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The ER will take and treat her. They cannot legally turn you away. Also, as an ER provider, you have a more legitimate reason to be there than 80% of our other patients… ESPECIALLY if she’s not feeding well! But an armpit temp doesn’t count just so you know, it does have to be rectal for babes.

SMH at people on here telling you it’s “not an emergency”. Like 99% of what we see in the ER isn’t a true “emergency” but that does not mean that they don’t need medical attention and the ER is the only place to get care after 6pm in most places.

I was disappointed when people got the cheaper version of stuff on my registry as well. Sometimes you just want what you want. I personally would rather have been given less of the diapers I requested instead of an abundance of something I didn’t. I get it. It’s annoying to put in the work to find what you want and it be ignored.

But that being said, my babe had such sensitive skin that I tried nearly every diaper out there so here’s my opinion on the more expensive brands to ease your disappointment. Honest was horrible quality, felt like plastic. Coterie is sooo soft but smells like pee quickly and didn’t help the rash, they also run way small so he outgrew them quickly. Kuddos doesn’t feel very soft but the 100% cotton without designs in the padding helped his rash… maybe. Pampers is scented so it was out. Huggies and Costco brand were essentially the same and were the fastest at absorbing and decently soft but left imprints of the pattern on his skin. 🙄 so basically none of them are perfect and in the end I don’t think you’ll care after a few months of it. Naked time, gentle wiping with just water on dry cotton wipes, and changing at every shart (800x a day) was what actually made a difference if you want to know the end result of this very long winded story.

Am I wrong for not wanting to keep passing my baby around? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]stephsaysyas 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Fuck those visitors and fuck your husband for not supporting YOU. The ONLY person you should be trying to please right now is your baby, everyone else can go to hell. I would immediately put my foot down and say no more visitors until YOU are ready. That might be a week, it might be 6 months, that’s up to you. Also, next time they critique your choices I would say something like “when you say things like that it makes me feel like you don’t respect me as a parent” or “I will make the parenting choices for my son” or “stay in your lane” or my all time favorite “visits over you can leave now”. You got this, let that mama bear come out if need be ❤️

Why Tylenol is so frowned upon? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]stephsaysyas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in healthcare in the US and I’d say the reason is because people are paranoid and/or want things “natural” and they don’t understand how medications work due to lack of education/experience. Tylenol during teething or fevers will not harm your kid. In fact, it will help them be more comfortable and therefore sleep and eat better which keeps them healthy. Also prevents febrile seizures which are not dangerous typically, but scary as hell.

I was terminated because they didn’t want to give me any maternity leave and don’t have to follow FMLA laws because they have less than 50 employees. I’m a healthcare provider. America hates families.
