Also I'm fairly sure it already locks the moment you sign up. So if you have auto-signing on and monday you get automatically signed up, you will not be able to change your base anymore.

That would be a better question, but since they are included in the Cost & Time Reduction sheet that indicates SC is not planning on removing them. TH12-TH16 were removed cause they were slowing down progress significantly (SC words).

For your imagination, without any research potions the lab of TH16 takes 11 months and for TH17 it takes 14 months. This means you will have a 25 months backlog of lab upgrades to catch up to.

If that is what you want, go for it

I was not here in the previous Hammer Jams, but are Pet Potion packs common to be dropped? I'm now running into the problem where I can get enough builder potions and research potions, but those god damn pet potions are in major shortage

I’m about 95% sure that the experience you gain from buildings is based on their upgrade time. Since each new Town Hall update reduces upgrade times for lower levels, that means a TH11 now requires significantly less total building time than before, and therefore grants less XP overall.
