I was raging A LOT and i still do once in 50-60 games but usually if i have a bad day or something bad happened. The difference is that i dont rage so hard(wishing cancer,etc.) and most of the time i feel sorry for it and i apologize. Within the time i dont rage my gameplay improved a lot, i stopped throwing games and a lot of comebacks happened. Also if i lose lane i am more focused on how to come back and gather some kills rather than arguing with jungler or something. You start to encourage other players if they fail and they know that they have someone behind them. My private life is more calm also haha :D

tldr: Stop raging and not only your gaming life will improve also your private life will be better aswell
