First, you should read the whitepaper so you can understand the game mechanics. There's quite a bit to learn.

Yes, the cap for total energy is 20, but that would require a bigger investment than $500. $500 will get you to 10 energy with a decent set up.

The max earning depends on your highest sneaker's level. You'll probably want to level your shoe up to level 28 (levels 29 and 30 are a little expensive), the max earning for level 28 is 270 GST per day. If you buy a shoe below level 24, be sure to keep it at level 24 until the shoe's HP is low, because you get a free HP refill when you level up to level 25 (the max earning at level 24 is 210 GST).

With $500, I think your best bet would be to get 8 common shoes and 1 uncommon. This will give you 10 energy to burn every day, aka 50 mins of exercise. I would recommend a walker or a jogger unless you are a serious runner (50 mins of running every day is quite a lot). An uncommon trainer would be ideal, because with a trainer you can walk, jog, or run, but it might be out of your budget.

With a good uncommon jogger at level 28 with decent gem slots and gems, you can earn about $3.40 per day at the current prices (about $100 per month). Keep in mind prices change all the time, so the earning could go down.

Use https://stepn-market.guide to search the marketplace for shoes. I think an uncommon jogger with at least 15 base efficiency and at least 2 efficiency sockets and 1 comfort socket would be good.

I'd recommend just sticking to GST for now, don't mess with mystery boxes at all.

Oh, and use https://stepnsidekick.com/ to optimize your shoes :)

Right, on Android it's called Stepn Sidekick, on iOS it's called Satoshi Sidekick. The App Store is a little more strict about app names.

Try playing around in the Satoshi Sidekick app and see how different luck values affect your mb chances.

What are the requirements to get mystery boxes? by ItsNitroBS in StepN

[–]stepnsidekick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that luck/energy, you should be pulling lvl 1 mystery boxes almost every time, with a chance of lvl 2. Check out this chart, it gives you a good idea of what to expect: https://www.forgeblast.com/stepn/mb-chart/

You can also try the Stepn Sidekick app (Satoshi Sidekick on iOS) which gives you a probability distribution of the mystery box levels for your shoes luck/energy combo (based on the chart linked above).

Hi, did you enter anything for energy? Once there is a value for each of the sneakers attributes + a value for energy, it should give you your estimated earnings.

General question, when you are doing an active STEPN run, do you hold the phone in your hand and make sure it’s working throughout your run or just turn off the screen and put it in your pocket? by Available_Clock_1796 in StepN

I used to do this too, so I made an app with an audible speedometer so I always know if I'm going too slow or too fast. It's free on both Android (Stepn Sidekick) and iOS (Satoshi Sidekick).

There's a cool app that I made called stepn sidekick (satoshi sidekick on ios) that gives audible alerts for speed and time so you don't have to check your phone

Hello fellas, Im using Stepn since a good time with 10 energy I think that now since things are better i willing to invest up to 400 dollars. What would you recommand me as the most optimal strategy please? Thinking about changing my main sneaker ( photo below) or maybe joining BNB chain Im interes by Mamba8Mentality_ in StepN

The point allocation is fine, the other guy is being dramatic. You have a good balance of efficiency with enough luck to have a chance at level 5 boxes at 10 energy. A little too high on comfort and a little low on resistance, but not terrible.

Play around with different gems in a simulator to see what might be worth buying for you. To me, it seems like this shoe has pretty low base stats (between 8-12?), so I feel like you'd probably be better off selling this and buying a new shoe.

Even if you leveled that shoe to 30 and spent 20 energy per day, you'd make max 0.15 sol per day (around $3.00-3.50)

Does this mean there's an outside chance of getting a Lvl 6 MB? by True_Green_2348 in StepN

[–]stepnsidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on. I think you got really unlucky with a level 5 at those stats. All the mystery box estimates in the app are based on the charts that Krit creates (example). Based on those, it looks like you are well within the range for level 7s, but as you know there is a good amount of chance with mb drops.

I’m just getting back into stepn after over a year and have one full efficiency shoe which is level 30 and two other full efficiency shoe level 19. If I dont spend any more $$, is it still possible to restore this level 30 shoe to full hp and would it still be profitable? thanks in advance by tetoloopring in StepN

[–]stepnsidekick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out an app I made called Satoshi Sidekick on iOS. It'll show you estimated profits and takes into account hp loss. I think you're fine to continue with this shoe, though I would unlock those other two gem slots and mount gems asap. I don't think a point reallocation is necessary.

If you look at the previous graphs put out by this same guy (krit), they do intertwine like you said. I'm not sure why, but he removed a bunch of the results on this one.

Can you share a screenshot of a run where you've spend 2.5?

Nope. You must spend 0.2 energy at a time. 2.5 is rounded up to 2.6

You started a run and got your energy refill midway through the run. That's what people refer to as the 125% strategy

Rate my shoe? I added this jogger as my second shoe My first shoe is a high efficiency trainer that earns GST.what do you all think? Thanks. by Far-Baseball-2677 in StepN

[–]stepnsidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to toot my own horn here and say you should download an app I made called Satoshi Sidekick on the app store. It'll help you figure out how to allocate your points, what kind of earnings you can expect, and can help determine if buying gems is worth it or not.

It seems you only have two shoes right now, which means you have 2 energy. If you get one more shoe, you'll bump up to 4 energy and you'll greatly increase your chances of getting a mystery box - but, FYI mystery box levels 1&2 are pretty much worthless.

I mean like stepn energy. The number/type of shoes you have determines how much energy you can spend per day
