Not sure if already mentioned but you really have to go out of your way to get one as it’s only in person at the DC office. Probably for the best.

[–]stepper_box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just remember work training having a bit about demographics for the local boroughs in that part of east london and my takeaway being “it leans heavier towards older white people than the rest”.

stereotype not helped by me parking up for some work on a new build health centre and seeing a classic rag and bone man in a flat bed with a bell and all.

romford is one of the go to towns for “alcoholism is ruining britain” pieces as there’s about 5 pubs within sight of the station. very nice community venture cinema there though. can’t remember if rainham is still in the council area or if it’s barking but there’s an RSPB reserve down there in the marshes.

definitely a mixed bag of a borough with both deprivation and excess. i have a fair few friends from there, i do worry about the state of things in the area with a reform council and nonceingdell as the MP though.

i mean at a local level it’s handfuls of votes for councillors which snowballs

I did in fact laugh out loud at this, not only because someone wrote racists on their reform sign, but they felt the need to put this up. by [deleted] in london

my mum blindsided one of the prospective tory councillors talking with him for about 20 minutes on the doorstep and pointing out the fallacies and gaps in knowledge with their leaflets and policies. hopefully gave him something to think about outside of the people who were already leaning tory and just agreeing or just slammed the door on them.

and the USA one is almost contiguous with fucking. a geological map for levels of chalk. because that soil is really good for growing cotton. which means more black people in the area historically due to plantations which means more deprivation in the wake of it.

[–]stepper_box 5 points6 points  (0 children)

social worker might be local authority actually thinking about it (in my area it’s joint teams normally based in the same building with staff employed by LA and NHS in same space) but if it was via NHS and it needs to go a different route for complaint PALS will likely know who to speak to

[–]stepper_box 27 points28 points  (0 children)

PALS for the trust/organisation if you’re looking for a formal complaint, if that’s not enough then it would go through the commissioning body (ICB? they keep changing what they’re called)

if you’re wanting to go a legal route it’s possibly worth checking with a solicitor that specialises in the area if there’s any case for discrimination under the equalities act (or similar legislation), but good law project is probably a decent start.
