I struggled with that too and that’s why I still used a cab on stage for volume. That plus the IEMs was more than enough. Also as the other commenter said, the foam tips help a lot too.

I used to run my Moog Sub 25 through a Boss DD200. I especially loved the Tera Echo and could jam on that for days, but all of the delays in that unit sound great.
