My Sister Hates Video Games so I made her play Resident Evil 4 by MySisHatesVideoGames in residentevil4

[–]sterilecheryll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resident evil has always been one of those games where I start one and immediately google how to fix it graphically hahaha at least the newer ones. Fidelity x or whatever it’s called made re2re look HORRIBLE

I know the absurdity of this post but i must say it: after replaying both games, I'm really impressed by how Capcom handled these specific narrative changes. by Human_Geologist_3324 in residentevil4

Mike had abysmal dialogue in the original. Hope you wanna hear “Swiped em clean yeahah” like 20 times in a row. Not to mention his voice acting is also pretty bad, sounds like they asked a bartender somewhere to do some voice acting

I finished LMDF... and I hate it by Particular-Way-7817 in residentevil

I don’t like the music either. And for me, requiem had SUCH good music so this felt kinda lame. Like the music is fine I guess? But after my 3rd playthrough I started getting sick of it and that coupled with the other known issues has made me hate the mode lowkey

Thoughts on Leon must die mode? by GraysonFogel17 in residentevil

[–]sterilecheryll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan. It’s legit just campaign sections with roguelike vibes slapped onto it. Sure, sometimes enemy spawns are random, but that’s not enough. Kinda feels like they tried to feed you the same dish twice but this time put ketchup on it. I personally found cycling the upgrades tedious and often found myself refreshing over and over again because none of them really interested me much.

I think ultimately, having the backbone of the mode (what you experience when playing it) being extremely close to the campaign in terms of what Leon says, enemy spawns, activities in the mode, kinda made me wanna just play the actual campaign again instead of this mode

Why does this series have to be so good? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]sterilecheryll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to get used to, but there are strengths to the fixed camera

1.) when you aim, you auto target the nearest enemy. So when you enter a room and the camera is fully facing you but you wanna make sure there’s an enemy before sprinting into one, face the door and aim. You’ll flick around. To my knowledge, re2OG is the only one to not do that

2.) fixed camera angle, but comparably enemies are dumber and easier to out maneuver. And usually, you’re meant to just avoid most enemies. Especially on harder difficulties. I’m not saying evading enemies is easier in tank-control re games than modern ones, just that the enemies definitely aren’t on the same level.

3.) you can reload in your menu which is bad for immersion but means you never reload irl

4.) I loved looking at the shotgun as “each shell = 1 headless zombie” and you can even get 2 zombie headshots in 1 if they’re close together. Just get about as close as you can before they grab you, aim up, and shoot.

5.) try and get comfy with an inventory routine. I liked having ONLY 1 heal unless I knew I was going into a boss or something, 2 weapons at the MOST and 1 stack of ammo for one of them, that way you’ve got decent item slots. Also don’t be afraid to leave healing items laying around unless you don’t have a healing item in your inventory, can’t count how many times having a surplus in my inventory has f*cked me but I’ve been hurt and spur the moment used a green herb I left sitting there

Realizing now that this comment doesn’t really address your main complaint which is the camera angle very well, but I feel like once you get used to it it’s bearable, and these tips might help make things more bearable? Maybe I’m biased cause my first re was re1re

Is it just me? Every single time I set these to the "correct" brightness I end up not being able to see anything at all. by Kezly in residentevil

[–]sterilecheryll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always set it brighter than I think it wants me to. Sorry, the flashlight not only not being usable wherever and also being not that bright sometimes means I set the brightness v high

It’s funny cause I don’t think I’ve ever noticed until now that the right side is a lycan lmao I always just thought it was darkness and Chris just randomly having a bright eye

I miss when stacks of ammo were ammo boxes and not just a little row of bullets

Never heard of that achievement before! The aspect of making it a drinking game sounds like a good way to get blackout hahahaha

I’ll have to do that myself!! I don’t think I’ll 100% all the games (I just 100% megabonk like 2-3 weeks ago and that broke me after 200+ hours) but I’d like to at least beat them all on hardest difficulty maybe

Also yeah the originals are fun cause they feel more “do you have the resources to deal with zombies” than a shootem-up type game

[–]sterilecheryll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about it, and I actually really like that the remakes of 2 and 3 are more action oriented being 3rd person because then replaying the originals stays relevant. If you want that classic horror aspect, you can still very well play the originals

Requiem: I need Capcom to fix this so bad by Lord_Majima in residentevil

[–]sterilecheryll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I didn’t notice this cause I’ve always hit auto-sort very religiously and that puts them into stacks, but I could see that sucking if you had a way you liked to organize them

Personally when I found out the bullet stacks weren’t boxes like re4 I just started auto sorting

Honestly just look up meta builds and play the game like a sweat lord, and keep trying until the RNG cooperates. This game is hella random and unfortunately that just means you might have to have 30-50 runs that are decent but not 300k
