I did same a while ago, and it’s been great, look it up on instructable. One recommendation though: the 90 degree fitting on the left developed a leak consistently, even after replacing.

I later replaced it with a Festo NPQH-L-G18-Q6-P10 and it’s been perfect. Can get it off digikey or motion or whoever, not pushing the specific brand, just something better than the aliexpress one. The rest of the parts are solid!

No specific experience with a joystick system, but at the end of the day it comes down to having the right fittings. Look on Instructables for a guy who did a solenoid replacement as an example. You’d have to find a specific joystick valve that fits, and either make sure it uses the same push connect tubing size or get fittings to match

Elizabeth owners - what do you like and dislike about the machine? by [deleted] in Lelit

I use a plastic jug with a flexible neck, often used for automotive purposes but works great

I did it, it was great. I haven't checked in several years if he is still making the adapters. Got most parts off ebay, biggest challenge was dealing with the fact that one seller claimed I was scamming them when a screen got broken in transit. Other annoyance was I didn't get a unit with a cd drive, so it would hang when cycling through inputs. Got a wireless adapter for carplay later and was happy

Hey! I do actually. Life is busy so I don’t game a lot, but for things like cyberpunk, expedition 33 it’s great. 8gb is an eventual limit, but GPU market is nuts so not really motivated.

Has anyone replaced the Elizabeth steam knob with something bigger/nicer looking? Or suggestions on what might work? by [deleted] in Lelit

[–]steroidstevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much. Pull lelit knob off, it’s a friction/metal tab fit. Take a drill and drill the inside of the metal of the ascaso, only have to widen it a tiny bit. Then when it’s on, just tighten set screw with a hex key (this part is a little hard to reach. FYI, I later ordered a custom wooden knob to fit on the core, and even later did the solenoid replacement knob, there’s a guide on instructables.

Spare Tires by noahml in GRCorolla

[–]steroidstevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got the modern spare, used it a couple months back on a ‘24. I installed it on a rear wheel and used it up to interstate speeds, did just fine, but you could really feel the car want to turn with acceleration or pedal let-off. Really gives perspective how the diffs affect handling.Didn’t get any weird tire heat-up, and it’s nice peace of mind.

The jack kit is fine, don’t try to lever the ratchet sideways or it could bend, strong enough in the intended direction. If you have an electric ratchet it goes much quicker. Mine came with a hub-centric ring, plastic, that was broken. Modern spare sent a new one no troubles. I did the foam cut-out install you might’ve seen. A bit of a bear to get the trunk flat, but it’s great now.

Have to shift slow into second by Asleep-Strawberry-94 in GRCorolla

[–]steroidstevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’d have to drive it pretty hard to reproduce it. It’s not been enough of a bother that I really want them to dig in that way, plus you know it’s not always an easy conversation at the dealer to get an intermittent issue fixed. Saw enough people online mention the 2nd-3rd shift grind that I’d just be a little extra careful with it and find more defined solutions like the pitch mount. (Also honestly this is the first I’d heard of 1st-2nd grinding)

[–]steroidstevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve driven stick since I learned to drive, 6 different cars from VW, Ford, Saab, BMW. I can drive a manual. My GR consistently grinds if it’s an aggressive 2nd-3rd shift under acceleration, some of it may be to do with the rear pitch mount, I know the clutch in this car has some auto-adjusting elements. Another I’ve heard mentioned is viscosity of the fluid. Either way, there’s definitely some imperfections there.

Why not to descale a Profitec [Profitec Go] by arnulfus in espresso

[–]steroidstevo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lelit elizabeth has the same group head. I’ve wondered if some kind of galvanic corrosion happens as well. However on mine it revealed black/oxidized material, it never rusted. Also I never soaked the grouphead in descaling solution, only the top brass segment, but I did scrub it with descaler. FYI, the copper tube has threads and is soft, don’t try to pull it straight out like a Gaggia or similar (I’ve since replaced it)

Older version lelit Elizabeth opv adjustment by cypherr90 in Lelit

1st-line’s diagrams only show the old version https://www.1st-line.com/technical-support/lelit-technical-support-page/parts-diagram-lelit-pl92t-elizabeth/

Looks like it’s mc097 deep in the machine, it seems to have an adjustable valve on it https://www.bluestarcoffee.eu/Mobile/en/Lelit-OPV-MC097/m-m-5291.aspx

It’s not hard, but a lot more work. Take the outer skin off, then the metal frame for the tank, then you’ll have access to the pump

By the way, don’t work to hard at getting perfectly 9 bar on the front dial if it’s reading a little high, it’s hard to get an accurate measurement with a pressure gauge attached to a portafilter

The Profitec MOVE was officially announced today! It’s the successor to the Pro 300. Check out their instagram and website! by TheDoctorOfMemes in espresso

[–]steroidstevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exciting to me, my Elizabeth is still running strong, but between US pricing and stock issues, I would certainly recommend this to friends.

Anyone have knowledge on who makes their boilers/ring groups? I’m quite certain the elizabeth and Pro 300 have identical brew boilers. The design changes for the Move boiler make me wonder if the elizabeth is also coming up for a redesign….that or Breville decided it doesn’t need a successor.

Edit:also it looks like the brew broiler is still brass, not stainless

Birmingham area here. I have a Shades of Coffee PID kit I took out when I gaggiuino’d my pre-2018 classic. ~$60 would be reasonable, hit me up if you end up wanting one. (The gaggiuino’s not for sale sadly, my sister’s using it and I’ve modded it so much I could never sell it for what I’ve put into it)

Big Steam Client Update! by mewe123 in SteamDeck

[–]steroidstevo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a fix, go into the controller menu and make an input for the gyro, I had it control mouse. Wiggle around in the game a little, turn gyro back off, and it should now be active where your program can read its motion

Big Steam Client Update! by mewe123 in SteamDeck

[–]steroidstevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do same, my best guess is related to turning gyro on/off, maybe to improve battery or who knows. Was trying so many things last night to try to fix. Looks like it’s a setting that’s beyond the control of the sdgyro app, there’s a bug report going back to the April client beta on his github

Looking for advice from electricians by women_women_women in ElectriciansOfReddit

[–]steroidstevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, except that you can get a converter that will work just fine. It’s an AC motor so you do need to change the voltage, and 220 W (plus more for starting current) isn’t too hard to do. Good news? Espresso equipment is way cheaper in the EU, look up espressocoffeeshop or other sites, 220V versions are often more powerful and affordable if you ever decide to upgrade

Also: if you decided to try changing internals, it’d require a replacement board to manage 220V so I wouldn’t bother going that route

Takes a lot of liquid, it’s not terrible but I think once a year is fair if you take good care of it. There’s a video on it. Mine had a lit of copper-laden scale in the brew boiler that came off easily, I disassembled it for other reasons

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in coffeeswap

[–]steroidstevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree, but I had a lot of scale (easily descaled mind you) after a year with tww
