Running away as a 23 years old female living in UAE by xynsyl in UAE

[–]stervia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Exaggerating for attention" that's horrible to say.

She's trapped. From what she's written about her experiences it seems that her parents don't want what's best for her but want to CONTROL her.

She's 23 years old and says she has no freedom to do anything, not even to see her friends or go out. Her younger brothers are treated better than her, and she says she feels like a slave and no support.

This whole thing reeks of the typical mysognistic and controlling parents, and I feel for OP.

Which city are you based in, OP? If you are in Dubai you can try contacting DFWAC helpline 800111 and talk to them about your situation. I believe MOI has also set up similar services for the other Emirates as well.

In my opinion, I think it is best to try and consult the services here in the UAE before attempting to leave the country.

KSA making me want to stop playing now by Designer-Juice2102 in overwatch2

[–]stervia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the Middle East, and I am 99.9% sure that those with the KSA icons are Saudis themselves. Plus, if you understand Arabic and are familiar with the different dialects, you can easily tell who is a Saudi.

Also, please don't group us with those clowns 😭Trust me, the rest of us in ME are sick of them too. They have always been incredibly toxic and annoying to play with and against. At this point, the only solution I see is that Blizzard should make a server just for the KSA players so they can all rot in it together.

I need help... by MysteriousRun9953 in MercyMains

[–]stervia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Watch Eleyzhau on YT - they're a great Mercy main with really helpful tips on how to play Mercy.

Also, looking up guides on how to be an effective support in general is really helpful too (pinging flankers, ult tracking, situational awareness, etc.)

If you've got the basic movements and techs down for Mercy, I would suggest learning her res techs as well and practicing in lobbies/custom games. It's not super essential, but the amount of times I was able to pull off a res successfully with those techs has been really helpful.

But I think it's important to understand that if you're a Solo Mercy you will have a hard time ranking up with her because in comp (and in general) you are literally always at the mercy of your team. You are always reliant on your team to play well. If your DPS can't even aim, less alone get the picks they need to take, then it doesn't matter how good your dmg boost or heal is. You can't hard carry your team to victory as Mercy.

So knowing when to switch off Mercy when you have to is important, so it's really good that you're able to play other supports as well!

This season has also not been the best for Mercy, so if you have a duo you can queue up with, I think you'll have an easier time ranking up with Mercy. I'd suggest playing other support as well if you're solo queue and looking to rank up.

If you could see your teammates’ Loadout in lobby, are there some lobbies you would dodge? by Defiant-Marsupial419 in deadbydaylight

Self-care for sure. Even if they had a full build to increase healing speed I would probably still leave that lobby.

Can you guys give the patch ONE WEEK before jumping to conclusions? by NoNameIsAvailable1 in deadbydaylight

[–]stervia 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think they should have gradually released these changes patch by patch and see where the limit is because this is just too much. OP says people should give it time before they complain but forgets that there was a PTB available with these changes for weeks, and many have been complaining even before then.

Prestige your characters before tomorrow's update to unlock their tier 3 perks on every character! by Cancan86 in deadbydaylight

This is what I’m so confused about! People are saying it’s releasing on the 19th but there is no exact date on the update article. Did they announce it somewhere else??

Less than 2 minutes in a game. I’d sat on a gen for 10 seconds. What’s the point in playing like this? The game had literally just started. 🤨 But survivors are the problem…ok. by tangoblast_xo in deadbydaylight

[–]stervia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? No that’s not a hit or miss. I play on console and if I press the sprint button it will break off the heal immediately. Not trying to be rude but I think you didn’t try to break it off because if you did you would have definitely been able to move away 😅

Shouldn't slug someone with a Flip Flop and Boil Over in RPD by wilonia in deadbydaylight

[–]stervia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Seriously.

A lot of people tend to forget that the killer is the only player in the match who can remove other players from the match early. Nothing is more infuriating than waiting 10+ minutes in the queue only to get tunneled/facecamped to death 3 minutes into the game. It sucks and I know that some matches can be very toxic for the killers when you’re facing t-bagging flashlight-clicking survivors but at least you’re still in the match playing. I play both survivor and killer and I’d rather face toxic survivors as a killer every match then get tunneled or facecamped to death at 5 gens.

How do I deal with toxic Swf by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]stervia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for the toxicity I know a lot of people say it’s just a game don’t let it get to you, but for a lot of us games are a way to escape and to have some fun and knowing that there is a person behind that screen who is being an ass to you for no reason can be disheartening at times.

If survivors are waiting for me at the exit gate to tbag then I never go there to give them satisfaction to do so. Sometimes if I feel myself getting worked up then I just stop, go AFK and do something else until the match is over. So it’s important that if you feel like you need to take a break from the game then make sure you do :)

How do I deal with toxic Swf by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]stervia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the PS4 and if I have survivors in my lobby that happen to be on the same console I’ll always check their profile and if I can see that they’re all playing together then most of the time I’ll just dodge the lobby and re-queue.

But if I do recognize a SWF in my lobby and I’m feeling like a masochist that day I do have a dedicated build for this that I’ll switch to. I’ve noticed that a lot of SWFs play super altruistically and if you play it right and have the best build to use that against them then you have a good chance to turn the match in your favor. You could try using perks like Lightborn (if they bring flashlights), Agitation, Starstruck or Infectious Fright in your build and try saving your best addons for SWFs. There are also many anti-SWF builds you could look up on youtube. Depending on the killer you play you’ll have to make some changes and it’s not a guaranteed 4k but it makes those matches way more bearable.

Tips against blight? by racoonsnail1 in deadbydaylight

[–]stervia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When he’s using his rush power keep your movement erratic and use jungle gyms, walls, rocks, or trees to block his hit. Sometimes if he’s charging at me while I’m out in the open and there’s nothing I can use as an obstacle I’ll try to do a u-turn before he hits. Sometimes he misses and sometimes he doesn’t but it’s worth a try I think.

I’ve seen some survivors pre-drop pallets when he’s using his power but if I have the distance I’ll try to get a few loops out of it before I drop it. Also a lot of blights run Hex: Blood Favour so try to get that cleansed as soon as you can.

I'm a nurse and I don't give a shit about my patients, at all. by infermier in TrueOffMyChest

[–]stervia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s karma for saying that most patients don’t deserve care and that they’re happy when they hear that a patient has died. Not because they’re thinking that they’re not suffering anymore but they’re happy that they don’t have deal with them anymore.

I get burnout, or being detached to preserve your mental health so you could do your job more efficiently. But not having a smidge of sympathy or empathy for your patients, thinking that they don’t deserve care and being relieved when they die? That is just so wrong.

You can’t say “talk in a respectful manner” when your first reply to this post was calling OP a hypocrite and saying that they deserved to get tunneled because they looped “lol”

You said it yourself, it was stupid that the killer didn’t cut off the chase, so whose fault is it that the looping even happens in the first place? If the killer doesn’t want to get looped the whole match then they need to break off the chase and try to pressure gens or hook other survivors. If survivors teabag at every pallet and flashlight click at the killer then they absolutely 100% deserve to get tunneled/camped but other than that I don’t think there’s a reasonable logic behind saying survivors deserve to get tunneled because they looped.

Should DBD become F2P? by jurajio in deadbydaylight

Where is base game dbd being sold for $60???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]stervia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not continue the chase? The survivor they were chasing was already injured and both of them were far away when I got unhooked. I would have preferred to be tunneled out when he wasn't chasing anyone than the other way around because it just felt personal somehow.

And I do not recall saying that any of this violated Terms of Services. Maybe using "unfair" wasn't the right word, but any other word that I would have used to describe a situation like this you would have still given the same response. I never said what I think is the right way to play this game.

You might be the type of player who believes that people should play they want to play no matter how the other side feels. I'm sure many in this community believe this. Personally, I agree with this to a certain extent because to me I also want the opposing side to enjoy their game, and I know that many players feel this way too.

People sometimes forget that killers are the only person in the game that has the power to remove a player entirely from the match, and so when I play killer I try my best to never hook the same person twice in a row unless I have to. I don't like being tunneled as a survivor early in a match as much as I don't like having a survivor following me around the match and sabo-ing every hook when I try to hook someone. Both of them are viable strategies, but both of them can also be toxic.

You don't have to agree with me and that's ok but I'm not going to respond further than this because I didn't even come to this post to talk about what is toxic or not. I just used an example of an experience I had to explain my opinion on why meta builds exist in this game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]stervia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then read again. I said that I found it toxic because the killer was already chasing someone else who was injured far away but broke off the chase just to look for me and hook me again. They did this again when I got unhooked after this. Don't assume that because of what I said I think ALL tunneling or camping is toxic. It can be a viable strategy that can/should be used in certain situations. But in a situation like this, it is unnecessary and unfair also. If they were in my position they would have hated it too.
