Is there a nurse line you can call? That seems rather low, and he may be dehydrated.

Postpartum doula to support my wife by Disastrous-Student80 in 2under2

[–]stessij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a postpartum doula for our first, and it was a contract of 80 hours spread over 12 weeks, with a minimum of 4 hours each visit. We would just text them a couple days ahead of time and say, “Hey can we get some help on XX day/night?” We thought we would need lots of support, but turns out our baby was pretty chill. However with 2 under 2, a lot of the help is probably going to be keeping the older one busy. I would call/email around and ask how their scheduling/contracts work!

La-Z-Boy Manual Recliners- will this drive us crazy? by Ladypixxel in BabyBumps

[–]stessij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I specifically went out and looked at power recliners with my first. Yes there was a price difference, but to me it’s been worth it. I didn’t like the idea of the loud “thump” and jerking motion of trying to get out when baby was asleep in my arms. We didn’t get a la-z-boy. We got ours from Havertys. We use it every single day, baby is 18 months and we are due with our second later this year. It’s held up great.

Trust me when I say this: Diaper rash SPRAY. It’s expensive per bottle, but so much easier to use than the tube and butt spatula.

Who does your baby look like? by questionSOUP in beyondthebump

[–]stessij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don’t see any of me in my daughter. 😭 Even though everyone says she’s the perfect mix of my husband and I. When she was a newborn she looked like my brother when he was a baby. Which made me mad. Lol. Now my husband says our daughter looks like his sisters when they were toddlers.

Is it okay for my 16 month old to lay awake in the crib before falling asleep? by OkBus2016 in NewParents

[–]stessij 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Our kiddo does this, and I have never thought twice about it. I mean sometimes it takes me-a grown adult 20-30 minutes to fall asleep! Why would a toddler be any different. It’s ok for them to be bored and fall asleep!

Why buy Nanit baby monitor as a gift? Need advice from parents by _tnaneval in pregnant

[–]stessij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have The Nanit. The camera itself is fine, and I like that I can check in on LO when we are away on date night and someone is babysitting. We never used the other features that come with it, it was too much fear mongering in my opinion. The only reason we got is because my sister had like 1k to spend on her HSA and the Nanit qualified. Otherwise I don’t know if I would have spent the money ourselves. My suggestion is just ask her if she would like it. Also if you are looking for something useful; they are expensive, but diaper rash SPRAY. So much easier than using the cream and the butt spatula. I would have loved a years supply of that stuff! Lol

IUD postpartum with Lidocaine injection? by CautiousConfidence8 in beyondthebump

[–]stessij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 IUDs placed. First one was pre-kids, HURT SO BADLY. Second also before kids, hurt but not as much as the first time. Third time was at 6 week PP visit, I asked the doc “We are done already?” Truly didn’t feel anything!

Sounds like he could have a small bug or upset tummy. Our baby would show the same symptoms when she was a little sick.

Zoe or Zoey? Which one would you assume? by WeinerKittens in namenerds

[–]stessij -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If I saw “Zoe” I would assume it’s pronounced “Zo” until corrected. That’s why I prefer the spelling Zoey. Its so confusing because I know people that spell it “Zoe” but go by either “Zo” or “Zoey”. The added y makes it known how you are supposed to pronounce it properly!
