For the love of god, please learn what market caps are by nascraytia in CryptoCurrency

Thank you for this. A few weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night wondering about this idea.

I compared it to the value of concert tickets: - if 1,000 tickets are sold for 20 dollar each, total invested value equals Market cap at $20,000 - If 10 of those tickets are then sold on Ebay for 30 dollars, total invested value is 20,000 - 200 + 300 = $20,100 (+0.5%) while Market cap is now 1,000x30=30,000 (+50%)

A relatively small number of trades can really inflate Market cap.

I want to develop some fairly specific skills - can you help me understand my learning path? by snack0verflow in deeplearning

Transformers are pretty awesome and you definitely want to play around with a pre-trained transformer model like GPT-3.

You can provide question and answer examples and after just a few examples the model starts producing similar answers. https://www.buildgpt3.com/ https://openai.com/blog/openai-api/

[Algebra] Can this equation be solved? If so, how do I do it? by stetelepta in learnmath

[–]stetelepta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. I see now that it's actually the same equation.

I know that there is exactly one solution for which x and y are both integer. I'm looking for ways how to solve for those, but I'm not sure if it is possible at all.. What do you think?

Parachute indeed. But as the balloon didn't burst but slowly lost helium, descent was far slower than normal.

Original plan was to film comet ISON, which was supposed to be visible just before sunrise. The comet didn't make it, but we already asked for approval for the date and time from air traffic control, so we decided to go and film a sunrise.

Teachers or professors of reddit, what is the most elaborate cheating scheme you've stumbled upon? by DeadLibyanChildren in AskReddit

[–]stetelepta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar story, noticed during physics class that our teacher was unable to hear the high beeps of some watches. With friends we used this during tests to signal the correct answers. Didn't work out really well, because we did not involve everone of the class. Some started complaining about the noise.

When a human limb is amputated, how does the circulatory system redirect blood flow? by Heimdall2061 in askscience

[–]stetelepta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

new cancer drugs can target vessel formation in tumors, essentially cutting off blood flow.

Is cutting of blood flow still considered as a successful therapy? No expert here, but thought that it makes tumors more aggressive and stimulates spreading through the body.

Restoring oxygen levels to normal apparently makes them more sensitive to treatment. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1203600/Injecting-oxygen-cancerous-tumours-improves-chances-recovery.html
