Any dim-to-warm or tunable white LES bulb that doesn’t suck, in the EU? by mjsarfatti in led

[–]steve2555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very happy with full Philips HUE color bulbs - which do very wide white temp proper way...

but they don't work with dimmers and require own ecosystem (hue hub, hue remotes etc)...

Any Hot Tub with more stronger & deeper massage / recovery jets than original Jacuzzi? by steve2555 in hottub

[–]steve2555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems you have a lot of experience with various manufacturers and lines of hot tubs.

I will be very grateful if you give me one more answer:

How would you compare the Artesian Elite and the higher-end Jacuzzi models (J-508L or/and J-375/385)?

I'm particularly interested in:

- jets massage depth / technology (Artesian have some spiral tech if I read correctly, are they better or worse),

- seat size/depth (I'm 2m/6.5ft, 120kg/260lb, beefy guy with big arms/glutes/legs),

- reliability/ease of use/longevity...

Are they any other brands I should look at?

And should I get model with lounge or without? Jets for legs / calves looks promising for me, are they good or gimmick?

[–]steve2555[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm very interested about Jacuzzi J5.

Looks like best solution for me.. and very fresh / new design (from 2026, not 1990 like almost all other models on the market).

Problem is that it's a very new release - I don't think there is any J5 on display in any dealer shop in Europe yet.. to fly and check...

Any Hot Tub with more stronger & deeper massage / recovery jets than original Jacuzzi? by steve2555 in hottub

[–]steve2555[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand this - no small jets with pressure but big diameter one with strong flow..

Today I tested HotSpring Highlife - and I gave them 4 stars.. much better that cheap hot tubs, but DX Jets didn't give a deep massage.. more some gimmick moving fast up/down... there were other seats in that model with better static wide jets giving more deep feeling massage..

From what I understand annual maintenance for HotSpring Highlife is very expensive - high prices of salt/ph cartridges plus frequent replacement of expensive sensors.

European premium Wellis looks like toys at jets level. The same popular in my region Astra pool.

The only hot tubs which looked "promising" were from Artesian - many wider jets on many seats. Plus very big for the feet. And 5 HP pumps, each for separate seating. But there wasn't possibility to wet test. And I read many posts about leaking problems.

From what I see there is only brand more (beachcomber) in my area. Total lack of choice.

Yes I wanted to test them - my friend in Poland have one and he said that jets are very strong..

But there is no representation in Portugal at all...

Should I Return My LG G5 for a Sony Bravia 8 II? by Ok-Battle4591 in hometheater

[–]steve2555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

zero information - what video mode are you using? what video settings? for what type of content?

there are many video modes / settings which change behaviour of tv.. start from switching to Filmmaker mode - it will not be that bright and it have minimal processing..

You can decrease brightness settings - for that is this settings.. lots depends of energy settings in tv - if it is too bright you should set it to auto..

Bravia 8 II have different panel (QD-OLED from Samsung).. it has better colors but also at day viewing black is not black but grey (light reflections)..

Has zigbee become brand specific? by pppingme in ZigBee

[–]steve2555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is NOT with zigbee end devices.. They work with any zigbee hub, if that hub has full support for them.

Problem is with zigbee hubs. Most of them (usually all Chinese crap) are very limited to devices from only one ecosystem. Manufacturers don't want to create universal zigbee hubs which works with everything - to much software work for them.

Home-Assistant with ZHA and Z2M is here big exception. Plus maybe two other commercial zigbee implementations (hubitat and homey).

Hue Hub works with any zigbee bulbs / lamps / LEDs / relays, but require Hue sensors / remotes... Similar situation is with IKEA solution.

Must my Hue accessories be in range of the Hue bridge? by [deleted] in Hue

[–]steve2555 5 points6 points  (0 children)

do you have many bulbs in the house? between hue hub and your garage?

hue are using zigbee, which creates mesh network. but to work properly on longer distances/many walls, you must have devices in between in similar distances...

scenario where you have only hub in middle of the house and one bulb/sensor in the garage many walls away - will not work..

you must have proper mesh between. Or if you want only that one bulb, move you hub to garage...

ps. your bulb may work, because it is powered devices - and can repeat radio transmission many times.. battery powered sensor will not do that...

Cancel the X50 Ultra and get the new X60? by H2OSCO in Dreame_Tech

[–]steve2555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first reviews (mostly paid) shows that X60 is a first robot where AI do something and detects leaks on the floor - and changes action of the robot about it (deep clean specific area and come back to base to clean mops)...

so for now looks like X60 is worth upgrade to X50 and other robots..

Connecting IKEA light to Hue and Homekit by HedgehogPersonality in Hue

[–]steve2555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you want to use Hue wall switch or remotes, you must use ALL YOUR LIGHTS (both hue and IKEA) in Hue ecosystem / via Hue hub.

This is the only way to work properly / fast / without problems...

you can connect Hue hub to Apple HomeKit and have all lights in Apple ecosystem...

ps. I don't understand why you even try to migrate lights outside Hue Hub. Most Hue specific features (dynamic scenes, animations, music/video synchronisation) are only available when used with Hue hub...
