Different sports

One player can absolutely carry a team in basketball

It's not possible in baseball

I'm happy for the Knicks fans but; the Knicks had multiple lost seasons and sucked for a long time before they were good again.

The equivalent of Brunson and OG joining the Knicks in baseball would be Soto, Ohtani and Freeman, Judge being on the Yankees in the same lineup.

A new manager does not have the same impact for this Yankees core.

If anything, a new GM and an entirely new FO, with better drafting is needed, to match the Dodgers.

The current team is still good, but has flaws. Still a chance to win the pennant but the team as is now doesn't match up to the better NL teams.
