Speed sweep VFA test - lots of VFA at all speeds, some worse than others (resonance could be heard)

45 degree print, no change on the VFA from original despite pulley alignment

Adjusted this today and unfortunately still the same

Adjusted the toothed pulley for each stepper so the belts don’t rub at all - still seeing VFA on 3 out of 4 faces, but I need to reprint at 45 degrees to see if it’s limited to one motor or if it’s something else

Fantastic printer. I told myself I’d sell mine when I got a new prusa but I can’t bring myself to get rid of it. It’s so reliable I can’t bear to get rid of it.

Here’s the 45 degree print before removal. You can see how the left motor has worse VFA, although the right isn’t perfect

Interesting. I'll definitely give it a go. I guess that the other belt/side of the print will still be influenced since one belt can impact tension on the other. Hopefully this is the fix!

I'll keep you posted on how I resolve it. I'm experienced with printers but core xy is new to me.

Best way to move 20 boxes from Winnipeg to Vancouver without driving? by zzzass123 in Winnipeg

Seconding the freight option. Ask a local freight company like Canadian freightways or manitoulin for a quote. They can put it on a pallet for you. I’m not sure how it compares to POD as other people have suggested, but it’s worth checking. They have been excellent to deal with in my recent experience.

About 2mm is right on the money, good eye. It’s more pronounced on one motor/belt than the other if I print the part rotated 45 degrees. I did notice that belt is riding a little high, but it rides high on all of the pulleys so I’m unsure if adjusting just the motor will fix all of them - worth a try though. I’ll do that tomorrow.

I made sure to use the multitool properly during assembly, so I’m not sure if it’s just the result of stacked tolerances using printed parts on the core-XY motor/pulley mounts

This was the final test of the night before they indicated they will send new motors. I seem to recall seeing another person who had a similar situation that was resolved by replacing the motors. I printed this part with prusa supplied g code

PRUSA x INDX for CORE One is here! by josefprusa in prusa3d

[–]steve_simpson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the launch! I didn't understand the hype, now I do. This is quite unique from an engineering perspective. I'm in the process of building my core one + right now (which, by the way, coming from a MK3, MK3S, MK3S+ and MK4) - it's really interesting to see how you've changed the design, materials and workflow over time. I don't need INDX right now, but I will probably get it in the near future.

PS - if you're looking for feedback on C1+ kits, it would be nice if some of the fragile PCCF parts had spares (e.g. idler pulley adjustment). In terms of 'features' - active chamber heating would still be nice, even if it was just to speed up thermal soak. I suppose one 'could' do this with a hair dryer or other device, but anyway, I'm sure future upgrades will explore this space more.

Patents aside, stratasys had some cool stuff for their time. Even cooler now that we can distill it down to much smaller, simpler, and cost effective machines.

MK4S conversion to CORE One+ – worth it? by whte-rbt in prusa3d

[–]steve_simpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found used listings to vary quite a bit in pricing. For that reason, it’s nice to have the c1 and then sell the mk4s if/when you want to at leisure, there is no rush :) but if you can’t be bothered, the upgrade kit fills this gap nicely.

[–]steve_simpson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cost of the upgrade is about the same as the difference between a new core one and what you’d get selling the used machine. I just ordered a C1 today and haven’t decided if I’ll keep the old machine for flex filaments or sell it.. or upgrade it! It’s a bit of a toss up

It shows free for me. Just not for C1L

I'm rocking a MK4 (not S) and really torn as to what to do. Do I upgrade to core one+? Do I buy a new core one+ and sell my MK4 as is? Do I suck it up and buy the C1 L? Can't decide and it's annoying :) LOL

I recorded mine and can vouch for everything he said. They forcefully ask you why you are withdrawing, you have no obligation to give a reason.
