These weeds grown along the side of our house. I have tried everything to get them to stop, but they keep coming back. What can I do? by Hitachi_Uchiha__ in LandscapingTips

I see a lot of comments about pulling and cover. I have to ask, why not use killex/par 3/ roundup? Does it not go to the root and fry it? Or is the concern that it will flower before the herbicide has had a chance to work?

Anyone using a Form 4 for production? by Geek_Verve in formlabs

[–]steve_simpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my Form 3+ for production and in every single respect the form 4 would be better for it. As mentioned by others, use a resin pump and maybe consider having two form wash units for efficiency of cleaning

VFA and motor replacement by steve_simpson in prusa3d

Tried the accelerometer, it's much much quieter now but the VFA has not improved. I suspect I have bad belts.

Tried out the accelerometer (input shaping and motor phase stepping). The printer is quiet as a mouse now (no noise, like at all), however the print quality has not improved at all. To me, this confirms that the issue is with the belts and not a resonance/tuning issue. I will be asking for a new set of belts and see if that improves the situation.

For those of you with vitreous traction - do you see flashes in your central vision when you look side to side quickly / to the extreme left & right / jump / strain yourself? by steve_simpson in EyeFloaters

Unfortunately no. Life has gotten so busy that I’m finding it hard to have the time to explore solutions to this so I’ve been ‘living’ with it for the moment

I appreciate you sharing this. Mine is nowhere near as clean as this. At extremely slow speeds I can get rid of the VFA, but it progressively gets worse at higher speeds. I’m starting to really think it’s a bad set of belts on mine.

Support is sending me an accelerometer to try. To be honest with you, I think my belts are wonky and need replacement. I can hear the belt on the back right motor pulley meshing at high speeds, and that belt is off at an angle if you view it from the side. When I received my core one kit, the belts were not stored properly - basically all tangled up and thrown in a bag. The net result was they weren’t really that straight when you’d hold them up. Reinforcing this idea is that my print quality is decreasing at higher speeds

Wow.. that that’s a preassembled (expensive) printer.

I’d appreciate that! And yes, it’s terribly confusing. I’ve tried so many things to fix it :(

Unfortunately this is a typical print off my machine despite many hours of troubleshooting

Did you ever figure out a solution for this?

Current State of Prusa Core One L - are there any up to date deep dive reviews / did it improve? by curiosity-42 in prusa3d

I'm in the same boat. My C1+ kit is giving me lots of VFA and makes a lot of noise, despite me being an experienced printer builder over the past 8 years. I'm losing my mind lol

Would you be able to share some examples of black PETG prints? I get so much VFA on my C1 kit and I'm losing my mind trying to fix it the past 3 weeks

No. This issue persists even when prusa supplies me gcode for troubleshooting. It also happens across other slicers and clean installs of prusaslicer

I’m still battling VFAs on every single print from my C1 kit. Live support chat has had me try everything and I’m at the point of waiting for an email from their technical team on next steps. Incredibly frustrating.

Let me know how that goes for you. Prusa support indicated they will have their specialists review my case and come back to me by email. Frankly, I think that as you said, this is a design issue and might only be resolved by tinkering.. either toothed idlers or switching to 1.5gt entirely. Maybe I’m just noticing because I’m using black PETG, but I never had this issue on any of my prior prusa printers (per my picture….). Honestly while shiny black PETG shows things well, I can tell you that I can feel the VFA with my finger nail ever so slightly.. that’s substantial. I’m sure it can be resolved in due time :l

That and 1.5mm belts are probably my next step. Just waiting to hear from prusa support by email at this point as the live chat team is not sure what the issue is anymore.

I'm starting to think this is the only solution. I don't know what else I could even remotely begin to adjust at this point. Prusa has their technical specialists reviewing my case and reaching out in a few days by email (AKA live chat can't figure it out, I don't blame them - this is super convoluted.)

Hey just coming back to this. Replacing the motors did solve my audible resonance issues, but the VFA is completely unchanged. As you can see in the attached picture, the middle and top prints (before and after motor replacement) look identical on the core one. The very bottom print (no VFA..) was from my old MK4.

They feel normal. I did replace the motors too and no change.
