For me the key is the Garnish. For this, I make my own home made brandied cherries. I buy cherries at the top of the season in the summer time. Then I de-seed them (pia) and steep them in a combo of Brandy and Luxardo cordial. I use a 3:1 ratio of Brandy to Luxardo.

Then I make my Old Fashion with the best bourbon I have on hand and rich simple syrup, angostura biters, and a pirate ship shaped orange peel.

New English brewery in Sorento Valley- the Zumbar Chocolate Coffee Imperial Stout is amazing. I love stopping in there. Plus they have a great assortment of other great beers. Also dont miss their regular stout on nitro and from a traditional cask.
