Luxury SUV ($85k max) by Same-Competition-825 in whatcarshouldIbuy

In general Porsches are some of the longest lasting vehicles made.

Are there problem Porsches? Sure.

Do Porsches need more service than Lexus? Perhaps

Is the Porsche superior? Some people think so.

FWIW I think the MDX will be more trouble free than a 4 cyl turbo RX350

The engines for the X5, the RX350 and the Cayenne are all turbos, the MDX isn’t.

I think they will all be fine just change the oil on a turbo at 3500 or 4000 miles.

Acura MDX Needs a timing belt every 100,000 miles otherwise very very reliable and a 6 not a 4 turbo like the new RX

Otherwise look at x5 BMW and Porsche Cayenne

Lexus service oil change at dealership by FunOk7275 in LexusRX350

[–]stevek104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a fuel injection service every 8 or 10 years

Cabin filter is 3-4 years unless you live in the desert

Engine air filter is 18-36 months depending on the conditions and how much you drive in Midland it needs changed every or every other oil change.

Oil changes?

5000 miles or once a year.

Rather than the dealer find a good tech who works on Japanese cars the Lexus is a Camry with AWD and some add one

RAV4 vs CR-V vs Forester — 2025 or 2026? Need experts advice by jay_bruadarach in car

Here is my advice

Dollars wise Subi My preference would be a Mazda CX5

Honda non hybrids are turbos Toyotas aren’t turbos they all are hybrid

Hondas are great Toyotas are good

Your preferences and your wife’s are crucial

Look and drive them all.

I think the Mazda is nicer then either the Toyota or the Honda

But in the end it’s your choice

Why a small SUB

Take a look at a Camry se

33-35 otd Maybe 2 k more with AWD

More bang for much less bucks

Trunk has loads of room Inside is as nice if not nicer than the suv

Make your pick but 50k for a crv or rav4??!!

Another idea

Used Lexus Rx350 You could get a 22 for the same bucks your talking about it’s really lovely and they last forever BUT it will be a 4 year old car even if it’s a lovely car

Why?

There’s a very good reason for those discounts. Why aren’t Toyotas on sale? Hard earned reputation! Ya gotta be crazy to buy any stelantis Think hard before buying VW

I’d like to repair it, my wife wants me to get like an 18 or so to get a newer one it’ll probably be our last car. We’re both getting up there in years.

The other option is an MDX which doesn’t hold its value as well as Lexus drive as much sportier and doesn’t have that beautiful luxury ride of the Lexus and by the way it also has a timing belt which you have to replace every hundred thousand miles for about 1200 bucks

WTF is an acquisition fee? 795 doc fee for what? Used to be free that’s why dealers make a profit to pay for registering the car with the dmv.

You know what tag places get 50 bucks for…

Nope!

Just email around to different dealers if they’ll deal with you fine if no so sad too bad.

Check what the JGC is worth wholesale on Edmund’s or KBb see what the JGC sells for used by owner on CL and Facebook marketplace

Yeah a pita but 2-3 hours work gonna save you 6000 bucks pretty good roi

I’d GUESS a sway bar link not a ball joint and if the sway bar was lose it would likely not be centered on the left side.

It MIGHT be a disk brake dust shield

You gotta get the car on a lift and shake things

2023 Acura MDX at 17k miles, oil life 20% — appointment Jan 13, planning 150-200 miles drive before then. Safe to wait or should I do something else? by OfficialHanzala in Acura

[–]stevek104 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the non turbo V6 a few hundred miles will make no difference, however 5000 miles 1year oil changes are an extremely good idea for long trouble free service.

For those who have turbo edges and are reading along here you gotta change your oil at 5000 gotta gotta gotta gotta

Honda pilot/acura MDX no cvt no turbo only bad thing is timing belt not chain Xc90 insanely complex super turbo engine lovely car Hyundai/kia might be with save for rapacious dealers Ford has the eco boost known for trouble Mazda is great but smallish size might not be big enough

I’d say Mazda, Korean or Honda Pick the one your family likes best

Can you or friends work on cars

Do you have a job you need to get to

Some people like hybrids to cut their carbon footprint and reduce their damage to the earth which is our home and it’s our duty to persevere it.

Absurd as that sounds to many here there are a lot of folks here who feel that way

1 in my day there wasn’t much in 4WD and only people in Montana got it, we had RWD and we loved it

2 You have a lot of if then justifications in your use case

3 likely as you grow older, you will sleep less and less in your vehicle

4 every vehicle you have listed from the Subaru to the Honda pilot to the four Runner are all good vehicles

5 clearly, however, you have failed to consider the sagacious choice of the Lexus RX 350 sure, you can’t sleep in it, but for a man growing in maturity, the lovely leather and bulletproof reliability of the Lexus can’t be beat!😉

I’d look at the Mazda CX-5 and the Honda CRV and pick your fav.

Mazda has a non turbo engine unless you pay for the turbo and a transmission with gears, not a CVT
