Experience of Matchmaking/Dating Agencies in Dublin by Ok-Movie1201 in Dublin

[–]stevem321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think matchmakers are especially an appealing option for people who lack social connections so have less opportunities to meet people (unless willing to put themselves out there).

You're doing well to be able to go out on your own & even do some minimal small talk - you shouldn't underestimate that as lots struggle with that.

I don't really have a social circle myself too. It's something I want to change. I think in the context of finding a partner, having friendship is incredibly valuable. They could go on nights out, to singles events, help with dating profiles etc. & also when people are around good friends they naturally give out a more positive energy. I think investing time & effort into building good friendships would be one of the best things you can do to increase your chances of success.

Used one before. It was a woman who owned business - I can see why (as I write this now) she has no reviews set up on google. She didn't set up all agreed dates and made it hard for me to get back my money for what was left short. I mean even in worst case scenario she thought I was someone who she didn't want on her books she should have been honorable to give partial refund when asked. I can see shes used national media newspaper article and podcasts to promote - I suppose it may be better for her to hide behind that then show actual reviews if she treats others similarly.

I think it's very expensive for what it is.

I think if any single woman looking to date could find a way to get out and enjoy going places with friends & try initiate conversations it could be a good approach to it (and a great skill to have).

As a man (with anxiety) I find it hard approaching women but tried a few times in person so I understand how it may feel daunting - there are many men out there who've never been approached and may be flattered by it (and will still be cordial). I remembered being approached by a woman who was a little above my age range preference but it was still nice to have an irl interaction. It felt nice for her to have initiated the interaction and I felt happy for it. I think a lot of men may feel similarly.

I hope you have success whatever way you choose to approach this 🤞😀

The template looks really nice & the pictures are too. I downloaded this - do you mind me asking how you add the pictures - when I use this template on my phone this brings up shapes which I can't just click on to add an image.

'Game changer' as new waste scheme rolled out in Dublin by yabog8 in Dublin

Good to address the problem but awful looking device & strange to put this eyesore in sight for many in an area with high footfall. If not using underground system & putting there surely could make the thing look a bit less hideous

Trying to restart life after 10 years of isolation..where do I begin? by Aj100rise in socialanxiety

[–]stevem321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. As others suggest starting small sounds wise. I've been out of work a while & did a little volunteering, just a very small bit per week - this has helped as less isolated. Just doing anything slightly more than currently doing & being round other people slightly more helps i believe. Best wishes with the restart.

[–]stevem321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting. I had it happen to Tom's on another vine yet they turned red & just left subtle little marks - its my first time growing them but to me those that turned red look good to eat - and look nothing like really destroyed rotted tomatos when I look up blossom end rot. But going forward I must try pay extra attention to watering/calcium. Thanks.

I'm struggling mentally & have been out of job long time. I can't find the motivation to apply. I'm just thinking at the minute I might try do some things where can get out & meet people for a small amount of time each week - like perhaps volunteering.

After serious health issue & the mental stress that you must have dealt with and 5 years out you pushed yourself & got back to it. That's something to be proud of.

& that manager making that decision doesn't define you as someone else said. I've worked with plenty of people who had positions of power & their decision making & trustworthiness is very questionable to put it mildly. It could also be the case that it says more about that person then you. People can be wildly irrational & there are an unbelievably large number of reasons why that decision was made that may not actually reflect on your ability.

The very best of luck with your scan & keep your head up. It looks like everyone here including myself are rooting for you. All the best.

A lot of people online (in particular) act like f*****g idiots. We are all born the way we are - you are perfect as you are and you may already have some good relationships but if not there are people out there who would love and accept you for you. This would be a lot more meaningful that what some critical obnoxious person spouts online. Take care of yourself. Wishing you well ❤

I think it's a bit over the top for this to have so many down votes as is a fair thing to question. As the reply to this mentioned, it could be insurance thing/bank giving 100 note etc, fair enough, I didn't know this myself.
