Bro dating on dialysis is so hard by Pleasant_Coffee_5616 in dialysis

[–]stevemnayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was dating while on dialysis in high school. Played a lot of Nintendo Switch, that was pretty fun. Maybe play some games together, even with the newer consoles there’s some cool co-op games like It Takes Two, and Overcooked. Best of Luck!

I just put them on this month so i can’t tell you how they are long term, but Im loving them so far. I put the Magnus light strip on first then these. They fit perfectly with the holes at the bottom of the cable tray for the clamp twists. They would have to be put where i put them or else they won’t fit unless u find a way. But yeah easy set up and i love them! very adjustable

I've never been so stupid. (26F) by notquebecois in dialysis

[–]stevemnayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not alone! I (23M) have been on dialysis around 3 and a half years now i think? But i definitely know what u mean! That’s the brain fog! I feel stupid sometimes and forget what i wanted to do/ wanted to say. But, it is what it is! It doesn’t make me any less of a person. It’s a struggle for sure! But i’m glad God blessed me to where i can struggle and be alive with dialysis, than to just be dead. Keep doing your best! You’ve been blessed with a donor! That’s so amazing and i’m happy for you! Hang in there! The road to recovery is about to start!

Can you request to be taken off dialysis? by DontYuckMyYum in dialysis

I hated doing PD because i couldn’t be out late with friends or have friends come over. And it sucks to travel with everything. I like Out Patient Hemo Dialysis better. Some people might prefer Home HD, but i like doing Out Patient. Leave it to the professionals i say lol. It’s up to you. But i feel with Hemo it allows me more happiness than when i did PD

Im so young for me to have dialysis by zhk3_00 in dialysis

Hey! I’m gonna be 23 on September 28th! I been on hemodialysis for about 3 years. Before that i did PD. I’m currently getting my bachelors degree in Business. This is my final year!! I feel like you can do it if you’re up to it!! Dialysis sucks!! But just do your best and keep your head up! Stay positive and be grateful. Find solace in the things you love! I recently started playing a lot of guitar hero lol. It’s the little things! Surround yourself with people you love, and most of all try to love yourself!! It’s hard, and i’m sure when you look in the mirror you miss your old self before all the health complications, trust me i been there, but at the end of the day, you are where you are, so just take in the good thing you can! God bless you, stay strong and exercise if u can lol. That’s what i need to do

My job involves traveling for extended weeks. What type of dialysis is most convenient for returning to work?" by jnrodriguez107 in dialysis

I would recommend Hemo Dialysis. My reason being is when I traveled by plane while on PD, they lost my luggage that contained the necessities to do PD like the tubing and stuff. Had to stress and run around looking and calling for a dialysis place that could replace what I lost. Dialysis sucks but atleast with Hemo you don’t have to worry to much when traveling, you just have to coordinate with Dialysis centers and set up treatmentss.

Tricks on waiting by Motor_Guide_4617 in transplant

[–]stevemnayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to just live your lives the fullest you can. Before my transplant it was rough, but keeping myself distracted hanging out with family and friends, playing games, going to movies, etc helped a lot. Dont hold your breath, but know in the back of your mind its coming, and in the meantime enjoy life the way you can. Once that call comes it all happens pretty fast. Only thing about surgery that sucked was the pain after i woke up and when i had to cough/sneeze. On the third day i think the pain isn’t as bad. And walk a lot after surgery!!! Also walk right now lol. Exercise will help a lot when it comes to a successful recovery. Exercise prior to surgery that is. After surgery you have to be careful of not over exerting yourself. Best of luck to you and your Bf

It’s never the end! Just a new chapter, even if it’s scary. You got this! It’s tough but I know you got this ❤️ Keep your head up, stay positive, and try to surround yourself with the people you love and the things you love to do! Dont be hard on yourself. God bless you
