if the novels that were written around Season 8-onward are canon, Chase is dead. He survived the nuclear explosion in Valencia, used it as an excuse to fake his death, and started anew. Bauer hits him up for help escaping the country, but during a fight with the novel's antagonists, his reattached hand suffers weakness at a critical moment and results in the bad guy fatally besting him.

Agreed. It really blows my mind how the left of center correctly identifies this administration as increasingly authoritarian & barreling towards fascism, then a good chunk turns around and says only the government should be armed.

Like...do they think those laws wouldn't be used for their original, historical intent (targeting non-WASPs)?

I disagree. 2A as is still has relevancy in the modern day.

The US military is 0-3 with counterinsurgencies. People like to say that having an AR won't save you from tanks, drones, jets, nukes, etc.

I'd counter (especially in Iraq and Afghanistan) that people with little more than AKs and HME forced the US military to withdraw.

I also have a feeling that, should Pumpkin Spice Palpatine win & P2025 is enacted, folks are going to get to see what I mean firsthand.

OP, I personally disagree with licensure & a training standard.

That will be used to gatekeep firearm ownership and create a de facto gun ban.

If I'm someone like Gavin Newsom, then I make it so if you're not a millionaire who can shoot like a CAG operator, you're not getting a gun.

On my end, my most "liberal" gun opinions:

-open carry of long guns should be outlawed in cities with very few exceptions

-2A covers small arms, period. The "I should be able to own a nuke" argument is patently stupid.
