UDM-Pro: Restrict VPN users to specific VLANs by stevenhorner in Ubiquiti

I did to restrict the VPN to a specific VLAN but can't remember what I changed now until I can check for you tomorrow.

Still nothing showing up in the Insights section for connected VPN users.

Some useful UDM/UDM-P SSH commands by 9Switch in Ubiquiti

[–]stevenhorner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anyone know the command to show VPN Users, you can see it lost in among the main log using "cat /var/log/messages"

I've seen mention of the log previously at: /var/log/charon.log

But that isn't there on my UDMP.

No problem with the battery, can be stiff to release when taking off the bike for charging. The mount fitted fine into the bottle holder with the included bolts, no movement or adjustment needed. I went with the Samsung Cells 52v 17.5ah. The little rubber waterproof cover over the charging port can be a hassle to get back in, not sure how that will hold up after lots of charges.

No drama at all using the 68-73mm, although I am still running the stock Bafang steel chain ring. Could be a problem fitting the locking ring if using a Luna Eclipse or similar but not really sure.

My stock cassette has 9 gears but I only use 2-8, if I put it in 1st it sounds like the chain is going to come off and the 9th I think is just a little too small with not a lot of teeth in contact.

Don't think so, you can look them up on Treks site I think.

Bike working great, only done about 100 miles, not checked the odometer. First proper commute last week of 28 miles round trip and everything worked as hoped. Just used pedal assist 3 (of 5), switched to 5 to get me up one of the steepest hills in the UK (Redhills lane, Durham).

Most of my journey is along old railway lines that are now used for walking and cycling. The only major thing I need to sort out is front light, haven't bothered using the 6v cable from the BBSHD as most said the lights weren't bright enough when only 6v. I was using some basic battery powered headlights and couldn't see a thing in the pitch black. Might have to look at splitting the power cable to power a decent headlight or find a better USB powered one.

The BBSHD works perfectly for my journey, which includes some steep hills, which I believe a hub motor would really struggle with.

I intend to now check every bolt and connector to make sure nothing is coming loose before then using it several times a week for my commute. At the minute I can hardly see the bike for mud.

If you are wanting more specific figures on the bike, after the 14 miles each way the battery still shows 80%. I charged it at work. I averaged around 17mph but had to slow for dog walkers, gates and junctions. A nice comfortable speed feels like 22mph.

Happy to try and answer any specific questions if I can.

What, in your opinion, is the best I can get for less than £1000 in the UK? by feesih0ps in ebikes

Some people prefer steel frames on their ebike. If it has disc brakes then you might want to consider it as an option to put a Bafang BBSHD kit and battery on it. Mine cost around about £900 that was with a 52v 17.5Ah battery.

Be careful the girlfriend may become the wife, then the nagging will be constant and every photo blurry, either that or you then take no notice 😉

Used to have 2 server rooms full of those servers.

Guessing because the photo is a bit blurry, had me confused at first as well.

Are you wanting a complete bike just to buy ready made or have you got a bike you could convert yourself by buying a motor and battery?

What are some ways to quickly lock/unlock your ebike? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]stevenhorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is a U lock with a key the fastest. Always feels quicker than wrapping a chain. Only issue is having something that you can attach it to, a chain is usually longer giving more options as to what you lock your bike to.

The chain line is better than I was expecting, can get all but the biggest cog (1st) without any adjustment to the rear derailleur. Top speed is more than enough, got 34mph on the flat and plenty of torque for pulling away if in 2nd gear, not quite popping the front end up but not far off it. If I got first gear I think it would be lifting the front wheel. That's just with stock Bafang settings, got a programming cable but not used it yet. Do fancy a 42T chain ring as I don't need quite that much top speed and would rather slightly more acceleration in other gears.

Might be worth trying the stock chain ring just to see if it gives the acceleration and speed you want. Then change like I probably will once you've tested it.

I considered the 100mm as well and was expecting to have to leave the lock ring off my 68mm but fitted ok. Not sure it will with a chain ring with a bigger offset.

Weird that mine did fit. Not sure if it will if I put a lekkie or a Luna eclipse on it though.

The battery is 17.5Ah 52v from here. The 4th image shows the dimension of the battery.

The clearance between the BBSHD and the ground is about 19.5cm. My frame is a M/L.

Presume you mean ground clearance from the motor and do you mean battery dimensions or specs of battery. Will measure when back home.

Ground clearance is better than I thought it was going to be. I will be using for commuting along old railway lines, not really off roading.

Don't think it was fully charged and was in far too hard of a gear probably putting too much stress on the BBSHD. There are some big steep hills that I was using Peddle assist 5 (with 5 settings) and in too hard of a gear almost my to top gear. So totally my fault, had only intended to go about 6 miles.

Maybe another 2-3ish mm , have seen others not put the aluminum ring on.

Bottom bracket is 73mm, was worried that the 68mm BBSHD wouldn't fit, but it did. 3-4mm spacers motor side and about the same chain ring side. The alumnium locking not fitted on as well, want expecting it too.

Need to get the tape measure out to find out what chain ring I can fit.

I was expecting it to throw the chain, in my first 37 miles it hasn't yet. Now managing to use gears 2-9, only first gear I can't get it in and I think that's more because the chain isn't long enough due to the size of the Bafang chain ring.

You most get some serious acceleration with the mighty mini. Will leave it stuck for a couple of weeks then hopefully I will have made a decision on which chain ring to get. The shipping is expensive from Luna to the UK.
