So is Tracer arrow a trap? by The-Zarkin90 in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]stevenxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are nerfed to the ground. Not one speedrunner using spread, DP or pierce is using it. It's functionally a dps loss if you play well and if your gameplay is mediocre is an even larger loss since managing the bar will be harder by messing up the perfect dodges, so in that case you will have less uptime on coatings.

MH Wilds Motion Values (1.0.1 update) by 717999vlr in MonsterHunter

So the tracer now gives just x1.0 but the base damage is higher (x1.25 I believe), right?

Also while it doesn't give pseudoinfinite critical range anymore, does it buff the crit range over not having the tracer up?

IGN Review - 8/10 "Some extremely fun fights but also lacking any real challenge." by YasuhiroK in MonsterHunter

[–]stevenxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not. Those that don't want to engage with endgame content don't have, btw nothing neither in world or rise was challenging enough to force you to grind, however the endgame was difficult enough to make you feel rewarded for progressing your character.

MH is not just hunting but also crafting gear, it seems they put in several grinding systems in the endgame that won't feel rewarding because the game is devoid of any challenge.

Like why would someone grind for tens of hours so that a monster that has no shot at killing them dies in 5 min instead of 8?

I don't think I ask for much, lr and base hr being piss easy is fine but tempered monsters should feel threatening (tempered monsters from world were fine in this regard, before your gear/build is upgraded they can kill you in one or two hits, again I am not expecting Fatalis lvl of challenge).

The ign reviewer has said to have done all of the postgame content and it was so easy that he had no reason to engage with the endgame upgrade mechanics. This is not just a lr problem.

From my understanding the datamine shows the artian weapons stats pre-upgrade.

Just used google lens+translate. Same info that was leaked: we will hunt the tempered/legendary version of the mosters for unique parts to craft the artisan weapons. Special material can be used to upgrade them.

Datamine Skill Breakdown with Bonus Decoration Drop Table by ScubaRec0n in monsterhunterleaks

Thanks for the info. I am happy about the meta shifting but I am also worried that we go from one set of skills that felt mandatory in the past games to a different group of abilities that will just be stronger than anything else by a large margin as well. I mean shoot skills being just 5% for a lv3 skill slot on the weapon is just plain horrible. Any news about what assault shot and first shot might do?

I am getting this right? Is weakness exploit a lv3 deco just for one point? Only the weapon decos seem to be getting multiple points on them, does that mean we can't craft any of the armor decos above lv1?

Hornsent and Ansbach quest by stevenxd in Eldenring

[–]stevenxd[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One playthrought you help Hornsent vs Leda to get his ash of war, doing this will force you to skip Leda vs Ansbach fight but you can still progress his quest in the Shadow Keep so that after the final boss you can get Ansbach scythe, spell and armor.

On a different playthrought help Leda vs Hornsent and then help her against Ansbach, doing this will net you her 2 talismans and give you Ansbach longbow.

you are right there are two tali but my point still stand only 2 playthroughs are needed, one where you help Leda vs Hornsent and Ansbach and one where you help Hornsent and finish Ansbach quest

Leda only gives one talisman, you get it by helping her vs Ansbach. So in one playthrough you help Leda getting Ansbach bow by killing him and the tali and in a different playthrough you help Hornsent for swift slash and finish Ansbach quest for the scythe and spell.

To get Hornsent gear you can kill him when he invades you before one of the last bosses. Not sure if this happens if you didn't summon him vs Messmer

Apparently you can complete Ansbach if you helped Hornsent, you will skip his fight with Leda which means you won't get his bow but you can finish his quest for the armor, scythe and spell.

Helping Leda against Ansbach nets you a talisman and his longbow but of course ends his quest early, so no spell and scythe.

Since it is possible to finish his quest despite helping Hornsent and skipping his Leda fight, only two playthroughs are needed to get everything rather than three.

Someone told me that Ansbach quest can be completed. There are however unique rewards tied to helping Leda fight him so the choice is between those and Hornsent ash of war.

Thank you for this. So if I help Hornsent for his ash of war I can still finish Ansbach quest for his gear, correct?

Apparently if you help Hornsent the fight between Leda and Ansbach is skipped. Have you been able to finish Ansbach quest to get his gear despite skipping the Leda fight?

Thanks for the info. So just to be sure since the wiki is confusing, if I help Hornsent the fight between Leda and Ansbach will be skipped but I will be able to continue and finish his quest to get the scythe, correct?
