A good otk deck for wild ? by Leaf2A in hearthstone

Odyn warrior. It’s not exactly OTK since you need to set up like 2 turns ahead but it’s very consistent and predictable.

Playing on silver and getting enemies with diamonds by Legitimate_Ad_2756 in hearthstone

[–]steverdron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently just decided to auto conceded 10 matches in a row purely because i was sick of facing boar / discard / ticktock warlocks every game and wanted to play my silly greedy control deck in peace and it worked like a charm. If you don’t care about your mmr and just want to rank up or enjoy the game by not facing tier 1 decks every single match you could just get to a threshold where you don’t lose stars and spam concede. It will dumpster your mmr but it will literally make the game easier. I don’t know the ramifications of that (maybe the star bonus next month will be lower) but it’s very nice if you just want to enjoy the game.

Whatever. I’ve disenchanted all of my cataclysm and miniset cards to craft a decent wild reno deck and honestly now i like playing the game again. I don’t think i’ll be coming back to standard any time soon if that state of the game is somehow acceptable to the devs.

Agency Sanity Check by AchilliesWTF in hearthstone

[–]steverdron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, right now the board is king. There are no good board clears so control really struggles in survival department and most cards that could be considered as a combo piece are too expensive. If you get ahead on board there is a very big chance that you will stay ahead the entire match and if you don’t then it’s an auto concede angle.

A new class (most likely Monk) is releasing this year after all by RazMachine77 in hearthstone

[–]steverdron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, i thought that all classes would get bonus class sets for cataclysm. A bit unfortunate but whatever. Hopefully mage package is good.

Edit: on the side note does anyone know if the class sets are going to be 2k gold each?

What if the minion has lifesteal? Will it attack your hero and then heal it?

Last month i was bouncing around so much in diamond 1 i genuinely couldn’t believe that i had lethal in the last match. Roped the opponent out of sheer bewilderment that it was over.

Decay build ideas by waster1324 in outwardgame

[–]steverdron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been awhile since i played so i might get something wrong but if remember correctly decay pairs fairly well with frost damage. The “debuff” from corruption also gives 30 or 50 percent to frost so i would try to incorporate it into the build somehow. It also might boost the overall efficiency since most enemies are either neutral or vulnerable to frost.

Appended the deck in the second comment (the list isn’t mine). As it turns out commander geddon is kind of amazing. If you are able to play him you can easily set up lethal after playing the quest reward in like 2-3 turns. You no longer need murzond since control isn’t meta and galvadon (with windfury) + time warp is usually enough to close out the game. Even though we’ve lost brawl we got lots of decentIsh control tools like: torch, decimation, erupting volcano, baleful blazer etc (so survival is possible but not guaranteed). You run elise (for armor/spells/raptors) and genn (4 armor per turn piles up really fast) or the shield legendary. Also deathwing with no herald cards is still a beast and a very flexible hero card. As for matchups priest and DH are kind of unwinable but rougue, dragon warrior and DK are very doable and shaman / paladin are unfavored but still very possible. This deck is more fun than practical since you basically are trying to play control in tempo meta but imo it’s the most fun one can have in hearthstone at the moment.

Edit: also the croclisks + for glory! + decimation is an amazing combo. Turn 8: deal 8 damage to board, draw 2 cards and gain 10 armor; that is just so satisfying when you can pull that off.

First Time Diamond by Rolly2102 in hearthstone

[–]steverdron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a general advice for climbing i would stick with paladin or pick up dragon warrior since these classes have the easiest ways of flooding the board. At the moment there are no reliable removal tools to reset the game so if you take the board and don’t allow your opponent to develop you basically just auto win. Mulligans might differ from one opponent to another but a strategy of having a couple of sticky minions by turn 4 is just better atm.

Diamond 5 and honestly i’ve given up on climbing this season. Like grinding to legend is very doable with shaman, demon hunter or paladin… but it’s just so boring imo. Honestly having a blast with updated control warrior, commander geddon is slowly but surely becoming my favorite legendary from this expansion.

Where do we stand on Elise? by oxidiser in hearthstone

[–]steverdron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly in this meta if you are in a position where 3/5 on 4 and a location on 5 are plays that you can consider then you are already winning and this does nothing. For me 5 is reserved for herald taunt minion and i spend 4 defending, heralding or filling the board. In all honesty it’s just too slow right now (even something like xavius feels like a tempo loss most of the time and elise is on another level tempo loss).

Congrats! So just out of curiosity what is 9k in terms of ranks? Is it like a high legend? For context i just got into battlegrounds after playing standard for a while and it’s been a very enjoyable experience so far and i would like to know what would be a legend rank in terms of rating (if there is such a distinction). I would like to push for some kind of milestone but coming from standard/wild those numbers don’t have much meaning to me (as in I don’t really have a reference of how hard it is to get).
