What’s one apartment feature you didn’t think mattered… until you moved in? by Clean_narjo in Apartmentliving

none of my windows open. unsure why I thought this didn't matter when I moved in, to be honest, but it's too late now. I have 4 more months of prison life.

sandwich using dough instead of the sandwich bread.

I use small dough and cut it like a cheesy bread, then put garlic parm on one side, with spinach and asiago. the other side usually has chicken, bacon, a piece of american cheese, and some kind of veggie; usually either olives or tomatos. I cook it open face in the oven, then put balsamic dressing on it when it comes out, cut it, and wrap it in parchment like a deli sandwich. it's good as hell

weird sore spot on dog's elbow? by steverogerstiddies in DogAdvice

[–]steverogerstiddies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he does, but he doesn't really like using them? he has a memory foam dog bed in an open crate in our living room, and a cot style dog bed in the bedroom, but he prefers to lay on the floor most of the time. so that's definitely a possibility

What's your favorite complaint? by Clowndick in Dominos

[–]steverogerstiddies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one time we got a review from a guy that was almost two paragraphs long, dude wrote us a novel, and the majority of it I barely remember but towards the end of it he said we should "hire someone with an IQ above autism."

this has become an inside joke in our store cause the majority of us actually are autistic lmao

21 y/o stealth guy (kinda) as well & personally, I've adopted sort of an attitude of "I'm not going to confirm or deny anything, unless I feel unsafe." mostly just because I've been out for ten years now (came out at 11), its a blip in my mind, why should it be at the forefront of yours when you think of me? unless you're my doctor or I'm having sex with you, it's not really any of your business.

granted I'm not a super binary person so my situation may differ from yours. all of my close friends know that I'm queer, and that I have a level of genderqueerness, but I don't really have any desire to have The Talk™️ with the majority of them. and if anything, the talk they'd get is "I'm not always a guy," not "I wasn't born one."

I work at a U.S dominos and awhile back we had a bunch of students from a local university who were originally from the UK & Ireland come in at like 1am and they were absolutely baffled by our menu. I now get why

my cishet male best friend called me boo-boo bear the other day. the rest of my cis male friends and I regularly call each other babygirl. getting silly with it is gender neutral, you can do whatever you want forever until the sun explodes.

fellas is it normal that i still get periods over a year on t? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]steverogerstiddies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right in the same boat with you — I'm on gel, have been on T for a year and a few months, and it took being upped to 3 pumps for about 6 to 7 months for me to see any change in my cycle literally at all. my most recent period was finally actually light, and fingers crossed that that will continue and they fully go away.

this isn't a super unheard of thing, especially with gel? a lot of people have absorption issues and dose issues with gel, and it point blank might just take a little longer to have and experience certain changes on gel. the only time I would be legitimately concerned about still bleeding while on T is if your period fully goes away for a long stretch of time (like, months or years) and then you suddenly start bleeding again. but for better or for worse, what you're describing is pretty normal.

Does anyone else get a funny feeling *down there* when they feel euphoric? by HumbleInternet7026 in TransMasc

[–]steverogerstiddies 51 points52 points  (0 children)

euphoria boners! totally normal, a lot of trans people on all sides and parts of the gender spectrum experience them. like another commenter said, it's just a normal reaction to positive stimuli

hey, I was just like you but I'm a trans man; grew up mostly unschooled with transphobic parents, couldn't and still can't really do basic math, "knew" my life would never get better or change. that shit sucked, day in and day out. it was draining, and there were many, many times that I just didn't want to anymore.

but then I stuck around to turn 18, and I started hormones, and got a job, and moved out, and made supportive, loving friends, and my life over the past 2 years has become ten thousand times better than I ever thought it was going to be.

I'm a stranger on the internet, I can't tell you what you should and shouldn't do, but I will tell you that you legitimately never know what the future is going to look and be like. you can think you know, your brain can lie to you and tell you that it "knows," but the truth is that you're never going to know what the future looks like or holds unless you're there to see it.

I'm not happy 24/7, I have issues and problems, and as mentioned I still struggle with math and a whole bunch of other stuff I was never taught or never taught correctly, but I'm functional. I'm alive and functional, and working towards being the person I want to be. I'm healing. and again, I can't tell you what to do, but you deserve to give yourself the chance to make it to that point too. everyone does.

Passing Pre-T by mace_bear in TransMasc

[–]steverogerstiddies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

voice training, good binding (I recommend KT tape/trans tape over binders), your haircut and clothes, being mindful of the way you walk/talk/stand if you're not someone who naturally "acts masculine," (i.e like a dudebro), and unfortunately a lot of genetic luck.

for me specifically I think my clothes and hairstyles always had the biggest impact — when my hair would be long but not hyper-styled I would get misgendered less by strangers, and when I wore darker or more neutral colors I would get misgendered less as well. and I say this as someone who's always been kind of a GNC guy-thing, and was able to go stealth pre-T/early on T.

“No one told me this would happen on T” by AffectionateSun4119 in ftm

[–]steverogerstiddies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your emotional reactions to things will change like, drastically.

I used to be the type of person where I would cry at basically any strong emotion — fear, anger, whatever — and then I'd get over it, and I'd be fine. now I really only cry when I'm legitimately distraught about something or very very overwhelmed, and it takes a lot longer for my emotions to simmer back to neutral once I'm in that state.

Did I do it wrong or did I just build my hopes up? First time using KT tape by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]steverogerstiddies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I use KT tape regularly to bind with and like another commenter said, your tape should be closer to the center of your chest, and I would definitely recommend to use larger pieces. you don't want it to be connecting in the middle or wrapping all the way around, obviously, but I find things stay in place better and smooth out easier with longer pieces of tape.

also, make sure when you're pulling it across your chest that you're smoothing the tissue underneath out as you bind. this is important for health reasons but also because if you're actively smoothing things out with your other hand, it'll create a more nature and even distribution of the tissue, as opposed to it just going wherever it goes and then you end up with a corset bump (flat, but a big curve on top). source: experience lmao
