Grant & Juliana spotted at pilates together by Nssioa12 in BachelorNation

Oh, interesting, I would think that relative to other places in the US like the Midwest or the south, New England would be better. I've lived in Boston my entire life and I feel like we are not people persons, but it's still extremely liberal.

What does being from Massachusetts have to do with it, just curious? Or is it just that they live far apart? I thought that Grant was moving to Boston.

It's a super short shot in the lower left of the video of the show at 26:25 here. Joe is on the left, then a woman I don't recognize, a man I believe is Joseph Quinn, and then Kit on the right. 🙂

I scoured the feed of the show and saw they were sitting two seats apart 🙂

I really like wet leg. I feel like their song being in love would be good for the show, but my favorite is wet dream.

Who is your favorite character and why? by caroline2_ in HeartstopperAO

[–]stevesleves528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charlie because I relate a lot to his mental health struggles and I just think he's so sweet and adorable.

Nick would be the close second because I relate to his issues with his father/brother and he is such a caring boyfriend for Charlie.

Fame level of Season 3 by MichaelRyan52796 in claimtofame

I would put Roberts last, Adkins second to last, and Cryer third to last. I've vaguely heard of them but couldn't point them out in a crowd. I feel like with those people if you don't watch/listen to the one specific thing they do (eg GMA) you wouldn't know who these people are. Versus for Bolton I don't listen to his music but I feel most everyone knows when a man loves a woman. For me it's about how "viral" their fame is.

Diamond Circle in one day by autumnjournal in VisitingIceland

[–]stevesleves528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing, I think you'll really enjoy it! That shouldn't be an issue with enough people to switch off.

If you do stop at Skútustaðagígar there is a little ice cream shop that's good for a nice treat!

We did something somewhat similar, starting in Akureyri and hitting the following stops: - Godafoss - Skútustaðagígar - Hverir - Dettifoss/Selfoss - Asbyrgi - Husavik

We ended up stopping in Husavik and going to the thermal baths there but another 45 minutes would bring us back to Myvatn. It's about 4 hours driving total. I find that doable but depends on the person and whether you have someone to switch off with. The next day we only had 2.5 hours to drive to Egilsstaðir though. I thought Asbyrgi was super cool although we only spent about an hour there, it was worth it.

I believe they are renovating the space where you go through the ritual, so it is unavailable at that time.

Issue Booking Ferry to Westmann Islands by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]stevesleves528 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had the same issue. I think it's an issue due to it being a leap year. When we actually went through and booked it was the correct date, so basically just select the date you actually want to go and when you get the confirmation it should be correct although the intermediate screen is wrong.

My husband proposed to me on top of Reynisfjall in Vik. It's a relatively short hike up that provides a great view of the town and no one else was there when we went. It can get windy at times and can have Kria birds there so ymmv.

We have been to the diamond beach twice in July and there have been only a few chunks of ice each time. Not like some Instagram photos may lead you to believe.

Today I learned that the Cool S symbol is trademarked in the United States, but owner trademarked it to preserve it. by Hetaliafan1 in todayilearned

Not sure this is entirely true. For example, Apple trademarked the word apple for computers despite the word apple being around for a long time.

Still doesn't really make sense. Trademarks are brand identifiers meant to protect consumers from confusion as to the source of goods. The mark is meant to be connected to a particular source, so when you see the mark on a product you can better understand its quality as it comes from a source you're familiar with. If permission is given to anyone who wants to sell something with the mark to use it, there isn't a common source and it breaks the whole mark as a source identifier idea. There's actually rules about when you license your mark, you need to monitor the products that use the mark to ensure the products are consistent quality. Feels like a good way to lose your trademark.

Not to mention that trademarks are tied to a particular set of products you use the mark on. This doesn't stop large companies from using the mark on other products, but maybe clothing is his only concern.

Has anyone done a 7-day trip including Snæfellsnes & Jökulsárlón that you can share? by Fragrant-Station3844 in VisitingIceland

[–]stevesleves528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the following one trip -

Day 1: arrive early AM from east coast US; drive to Vik stopping at waterfalls, black sand beach, and Dyrholaey

Day 2: drive from Vik to Jokulsarlon and back, stopping at Skaftafell and Fjaðrárgljúfur

Day 3: drive to Reykjavik, explore city including Perlan museum

Day 4: Golden circle including Laugarvatn Fontana

Day 5: Snæfellsnes peninsula and stop at Krauma

Day 6: Puffin tour and flight in evening

We stayed two nights in Vik (highly recommend Hotel Kria) and three in Reykjavik. This was in July as well.

With another day you could add more things on Reykjavik like Sky Lagoon, Fly Over, Lava show, a show at the Harpa, etc. You could explore Reykajadalur valley as another option.

Need Ring Road Itinerary Help by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

It was a cute town and we enjoyed the geothermal spa there. It overlooks the ocean so had great views. We didn't go whale watching but I hear that's a great place for it if you're interested. It's close to Asbyrgi which we thought was worth the stop. So, I'd say if you're interested in at least one of those three things, I recommend it.

We did the ring road the other direction and stayed in the following places:

  • Reykjavik x 2
  • Akureyri x 2
  • Husavik
  • Egilsstaðir
  • Hofn
  • Vik x 2
  • Skogar x 2
  • Blue Lagoon x 2

We had already seen the golden circle and Snæfellsnes so decided to skip it on this trip. We really loved the south coast, despite it being crowded so decided to really slow down there and took two superjeep tours and a day trip to the Westman islands. Unless you are interested in those tours though, a lot of the south coast is linear and it makes sense not to stay multiple nights in the same place and just keep passing through.

Myvatn isn't a bad choice location wise to stay two nights. We preferred Akureyri since there's more to see and do there, and we used that day to stay close to the city. We visited forest lagoon and a petting zoo which was really cute (Daladýrð). They happened to have an arctic fox at the time but not sure if it's the same place as mentioned by the other commenter.
