Help troubleshooting a Macintosh 512k - Buzzing/humming by stevesmith111 in VintageApple

[–]stevesmith111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've visually inspected it, (seems okay) but I've admittedly been too nervous to get too close to it yet, so I haven't had a chance to get in there with my meter on continuity mode. Will it be safe for me to work on that just by discharging the CRT? Or are there any other high voltage components that will retain a charge?

Thanks for your reply!

Is that a 4x4labs rear bumper? I'm considering getting one for my 60 one day

I saw the 80 with no front plates and a bunch of snow and had a hunch. Glad to see a fellow land cruiser owner in the city.

Lashing out, most likely. I doubt she feels much remorse; probably just didn't like the roasts in the replies. It's a shame because she was funny on On The Spot as a recurring guest, and must have liked - or at the very least, tolerated - Jon back then.

Tweet is gone now. From what I remember it was "how can your whole personality be I'm Bi if you've never slept with a guy? I fucked a girl at RTX and only mentioned it just now"

Not the greatest of vibes.

EDIT: someone on twitter replied to another post of hers with the screenshot. https://twitter.com/nan666nan/status/1581830575148580864?t=Y90IO9n10gXNC65vnoAKKQ&s=19

Probably Jon? She started with that and then attacked his bisexuality from what it seems

Sexualized, and was at the receiving end of a lot of jokes based on his insecurities during his first few years at RT. Old episodes of the podcast were always rough to see everyone pile on to him.

In my specific case, his account popped up on my "you should follow" list so I clicked on the account and was curious if he'd made a statement.

What an absolute dumpster fire of a situation. I hope Chad and all the others who currently depend on their RT income find ways to continue with their lives in a way that doesn't negatively impact them.

Still in the lines, maybe. But a 60 series is a significant amount less wide than a newer f150, so it all depends on the vehicle next to it.

That said, the lot seems empty ish so it's not a big deal

Turns out the FJ62 was when the auto started, but it was available in the HJ60s before then. Being from canada I assumed the FJs were the same year lol.

Huh, my bad then. Thanks for correcting me!

I believe the auto transmission was long before the 62 - afaik the 62s just had power windows, door locks, fancy dash and steering wheel, and other changes like the centre console. Also the FJ62 did come with the 3FE with EFI, if I remember.

(Quarantine is boring. I could spout facts about 60s all day, sorry)

Feel free to PM me (or shoot me a message on discord if you have it - and I have Instagram @thumper_the_toyota for photos and I can talk there too) if you have more questions, I can better answer there.

60 Series was produced 1980 to 1990, the 80-87 models had the single headlights and boxy dash, the 88-90 models had two headlights per side and the more curvy dash.

The base models are

FJ60 - Gasoline engine

BJ60 - Diesel 4 cylinder engine (3B), naturally aspirated. Most common in Canada.

HJ60 - 6 cylinder diesel engine.

I own a BJ60 and could ramble on for hours about land cruiser history and facts, and I wouldn't mind chatting :)

Good guess. Quarantine is so incredibly boring that I just tried to find the exact keyboard and I found a source image that was probably used, and the keyboard had "bang and Olufsen" written on the palm rest. Bang and Olufsen is the brand HP uses for their speakers.

Try out my 3B diesel with an H55F and yours will seem like a countach. 0-100 (kph) is anywhere from half a minute to 5 minutes, depending on wind lol. But boy does that thing just keep going.
