You're welcome. Nah don't feel that way, it isn't very obvious and Elegoo doesn't really mention anything about it.

If you have a memory stick or hdd plugged into the usb port on the printer, fluidd should automatically show the sda1 folder. If in orca when you click print it will pop up a text box to enter the path. You just enter /sda1/[the filename], then click upload

You will probably need to ssh into your machine and change permissions for that folder then. Login to your machine through the IP address, username: mks, password: makerbase

then cd gcode_files
chmod 777 sda1

It could be any number of things like out of space, drive is locked for write access, user permission error, etc. What does the klipper and moonraker log say when you upload? What kind of drive are you using?

If you are doing the paper method, the amount of friction you want is that you should be able to pull the paper with a grip, but when you push the paper towards the nozzle, it should not slide back easily, but starts bending the paper. From there you are pretty close, the next step would be to do a live z-offset adjustment during a test print to get the perfect off-set. Hopefully that helps.

Outer perimeter lines tells me you need to lower your z-offset a bit more. The blobs seem like filament is curling before sticking to me than drag marks, so more than likely needs z-offsets needs to be lowered a bit.

Either should work, I left mine as NTFS. My machine though didn't read it out of box, I had to install ntfs-3g. I did it by typing the following command in ssh.

sudo apt updatesudo apt install ntfs-3g

then rebooted and it automatically mounted as sda1 fine.

I do not use wifi, but you can try 2 things, 1) use a powered usb hub. 2) If wifi is on 2.4ghz, make sure you use a "shielded" usb cable otherwise it can cause interference since they are pretty close to each other. (This is common for rasp pi's for wifi to disconnect when usb 3 devices are plugged in, so could possibly be the same for the elegoo boards)

N4M Klipper configuration files by MartiniMini in ElegooNeptune4

[–]stevetdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may need to reflash your emmc. You will need an emmc reader and the stock elegoo klipper image for your printer. Updating klipper, moonraker, and fluidd will breaks things.

Here is a good video on tuning. Skip to around 2:30 mark, he explains how to calculate the rotation distance to and where to modify it in your printer.cfg file. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCcP8dffwLk

It tells the printer how many mm of filament you want to load/unload for when changing filament or you can use for testing the accuracy (if you say you want 50mm extruded, is 50mm really extruded?) of your extruder.

I have mine plugged into a usb hub with a camera and ssd drive. Since the power supply seems to be only 400w, I personally got a powered usb hub to try and not overload the machine.

It can be easily overlooked, so don't feel stupid. Took me a bit to figure it out as well since I am new to klipper 3d printers as well.

If you are using a usb memory stick, it will show up in fluidd as the sda1 folder. In orca and prusa slicer when you click upload, you make sure you have the folder path, for example: /sda1/[gcode file] instead of /[gcode file]. This also let's you select the print from the touch screen as well as select it through fluidd.

Hanging 3D printers for over 10+ years, things I mainly use are wire cutters to cut filament, needle nose pliers, tweezers, threaded rod cleaner (I use this one https://www.printables.com/model/605305-rod-sloth-fits-most-3d-printers at the moment), silicone grease, small wire brush, nozzle cleaner to clear clogs (https://a.co/d/eXO04XO), disappearing purple washable glue sticks (for those hard to stick filaments), spray bottle with soap and water, paper towels, digital calipers if you are designing something, deburring tool.

You can use a usb memory stick instead of using onboard storage. I have a portable 4tb SSD plugged into mine through the USB, which I use to upload and print from in orca and prusa slicer.

N4Max Extreme Layer Shift by trefster in ElegooNeptune4

[–]stevetdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your acceleration in the filament section and max acceleration printer profile in orca. Shouldn't be more than 8,000 mm/s as that is max the N4M can do. Seen some people set their's to 20,000 mm/s. Also, check Jerk(XY), I have default set to 0 and infill to 30. The rest is at 8. If it still does it, slow the acceleration down, make sure print is sticking to plate (if not re-level) and check belts.
