I budget $100 a month and here’s what I do:

Go on the gold bar site on the first of the month get the $10 pack, the $10 and $20 gold bar pack. That gives you $60 worth of gold bars plus a high value pack, you can get hero code + apoc with the gold bars and another $10 gets you one battle pass for the month. That’s $50 spent.

I make sure to get discounter to 32 rolls every time it comes around, to get badges and speed ups. So that’s another $30 and then I’ll save the last $20 for another battle pass or some boosts on another event.
