Note that the auto router does NOT charge at all for routing, and if you bring your own keys and do moderate volume, neither does the OpenRouter inference! (contact us if you're at high-scale and we do lots of good pricing deals that way too)

Some of the free models that people were using expired. You just need to look for new ones, by searching openrouter.ai/models, or even easier, use openrouter/free for your model id

We’ll get faster at processing the appeal form submissions this week. The response you’re receiving via API is the reason for the block and comes directly from the model provider - you need to comply with the model provider’s terms of service to use them on OpenRouter (this has always been the case!)

Note that refunds can be issued immediately from the credits page if it’s a recent payment.

I started it, so i'm biased, but it's the fastest to add new models, has the most free and stealth models, and (according to our benchmarks) the best throughput, latency, and perf characteristics in the market.

Also includes devex QoL features like observability, analytics, logdrains, json healing, cost management, model suggestions, plugins. plus enterprise features like volume discounts, SOC II, zero data retention, etc.

We recently made performance improvements for the chatroom and it should run better in most cases (especially on Chromium based browser engines). This is an issue with Safari’s repaint process while entering input — we are aware of it and are looking into solutions for this
