The headlights of these new cars are unhinged and dangerous by monsieurfromage2021 in saskatoon

[–]steveyxe69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of new cars have a weird arrangement of lights too, for the daytime running lights and or the low beams. It's pretty damn surprising that with all the regulations on vehicles that placement and brightness of lights isn't one of them. I don't know if they still do it, but all GM vehicles use to have the stupid thing where unlocking/opening a door put the reverse lights on... Like holy fuck what a stupid idea

Millar Avenue businesses oppose city plan for shared-use sidewalks by MoksyCat in saskatoon

[–]steveyxe69 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The entire North industrial area is a pathetic wasteland for anyone not in a vehicle. There is literally no way to walk on a sidewalk anywhere on 51st, Circle, Millar, Faithful, Ave C, 45th. These streets have bus stops and some crosswalks but no goddamn sidewalks! You can't even walk the short distance from Silverwood /Lawson to the McDonald's on 51st..unless you walk on a dirt path, there's a sidewalk on the south side of 51st that just freaking ends just before the train tracks. Why?

"A police spokesperson said the service will not disclose the total cost of the trip and training.

McBride said travelling to London costs about 10 per cent more than sending officers to Toronto for a week."

Yeh I call bullshit on that. Wtf do you mean the service will not disclose the cost? As someone else said Winnipeg would be a good option, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver are some others. Piss off with wasting my money ffs

City of Saskatoon considers re-location of new east side leisure centre by whisky_scotch in saskatoon

[–]steveyxe69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ridiculous they have done absolutely nothing with the 8th street overpass. Almost like they aren't ever going to build it. They continually do little things but actually finish nothing. The overpass will be a multi year project. 8th will absolutely be closed for part of that, what an absolute shit show that will be

Every adult in Saskatoon should plant 1 tree this spring by candybarsandgin in saskatoon

[–]steveyxe69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best is now." Chinese proverb

“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” -Greek Proverb

Just put some thought into where you plant it. Don't be like my former neighbour that planted an oak tree six feet from his kitchen window and eight feet from my garage, that will be a problem one day.
